has anyone had this test done? If so was it on the low side?

Yes, I had the test done in March and my results were very low. According to the lab report, the reference range for normal was 1.9 - 19. My result was 0.9. This test is used to measure the amount of natural killer cells in your body. The natural kill cells help make up your immune system and fight infections, cancer, etc.

Many LLMD's order a CD57 test, I'm not sure why mine ordered the CD56 instead.

CD57?? If so, you might want to change your topic so you'll get some replies.

You mean there's a CD56 too?

Lymetoo,

Yes, there is a CD56 test also. Confusing isn't it!

That makes sense to me now. A Phys. Asst. that I was trying to have order the Stricker NK CD57 kept asking if I meant CD57.

He knew of the 56 from working in an HIV clinic as I suppose that's a common test for those patients.

That was my third try to get the test and what I finally got back was a Leukemia/Lymphoma screening. Err

Gave the lab the test codes three times and they never got it right. Doc's patience wore thin, so no test.
