Long story (I know we all have them) short. My daughter lived in northern CA, treated lyme by two prominent LLMDs with oral abx for lyme, babs, and bartonella. She moved home, could not take care of herself.
After many months of trying to find a LLMD here, she finally was approved for a PICC line and injects herself every night with rocephin.
She sleeps all day, up to 18+ hrs a day. And MAJOR anxiety at night.
Her LLMD wants her to add another antibiotic in a month (I tghink its doxy, not sure), and she is very hesitant. Herxes now are BAD, thinks that adding another drug will be intolerable.

For over a month I too have been on IV Rocephin. In my experience, it made me incredibly weak in the beginning where I could do nothing. But after about 3 or 4 weeks, my husband and I began to notice improvements. He stated that he could tell a difference. I am still on Rocephin.
The LLMD just added Doxy (after 1 month) because she stated it does better with the co-infections than the Rocephin. The Doxy has made me tired again, but nothing like the Rocephin originally did.
Each person will respond differently. Maybe there will be others that can share their experience as well. Hope this helps.

Rocephin for me causes depression and a little anxiety. It has gotten better with time. How long has she been on it?

I've been on Rocephin for a little over three months. The fatigue is terrible for me and in the past month I've developed some pretty bad anxiety, which I've never had in my life. I haven't noticed big improvements yet, but my LLMd is still really optimistic.

1st time on Rocephin I had fatigue and slept all of the time.
This time a year or so later, I am having major anxiety and panic symptoms, pacing, can't sit still.

Thanks for your replies. It will help her to know others also experience the fatigue and anxiety. she has been on rocephin for 8 weeks. First 3 weeks, she felt much better, its been downhill every since.
Any more advice?? Has IG 2000 DF helped anyone?? (A powder recommended by her LLMD)
She also takes other supplements. The anxiety is so bad, we are worried about her ability to add the doxy.
Is anxiety and combativeness a herx???

Mom,
I would say that anxiety and combativness could be a herx, it has been for me. But It can also be a symptom.
I might add that with my anxiety on Iv rocephin I am also quite irrasible and can cry at the drop of a hat too.
