Thanks to the phthalates in the new office chair I bought for $180 on sale I was forced to find another chair on craigslist and hopefully bring back this one.
The second one I thought was leather. Well it turns out I drove 30 minutes for a very beautifull and nicelly padded managers chair. I reacted after about 1 hour on it.
Just noticed a sweet smell with it.
Well guess what! I looked underneath and it said "made in china" %60 leather %40 artificial leather.
Guess what the artificial leather contains....phthalates!!!!!!!
So I can not use the second chair.
Now Im gonna have to sell that and try for a third time.
Life with MCS is not fun.
Why is this in medical? Because I want ansers and solutions.
Whats going on with acetylcholine, the limbic system, the chemo receptors in the nose, the amygdala, the Hypothlamic Pituitary Adrenal Axis, cytokines, luekocytes, magnessium, molybdenum, acetic acid, aldehydles, seritonin!!!!!!!!!!!
All this and still I dont know, nor do the doctors how to get me better.
THIS IS LIKE LIVING IN A PRISON!!!!!!!!
I cant even go out and buy new furniture. It has to be phthalates free.
Even acetone doesnt bother me like this and mold.
I woke up 5 AM sweating and things looked like they were coming apart. I felt nervous, terrified, worried, vertigo times 3!!!!!!!! My mind felt like it was a marble being rolled around a pan!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today I was depressed and bothered by the extreme vertigo and loss of smell. Now every smell is horrible for me!
How could this be?
I looked at gulf war illness and some say because of the nerve gas and possible mycoplasma that their acetycholine is messed up in some way.
Do I have to go to medical school to cure myself?

i feel for you since i have mcs too!
hubby cut wood for my pc desk for over head shelving; smell was so bad we took them back and exchanged for NO SMELL lumber.
i do suggest you edit subject and add MCS to it so others can join in on their suggestions on what they did to over come this royal pain in the butt problem. good luck. hugs

Thanks, so far its been so annoying that I have to return all this furniture.
I think I read that the chemicals act (in us with MCS) like nerve gas!

found out that phthalates are not related to nerve gas but they are endrocrine disrupters and some countries have banned their use!
prison of a world because of a disease that falls on deaf ears so ignorant for a modicum of interest.

It may not be the phthalates/MCS per say. I woke up today with memory problems, not knowing what day of the week, or even what month it was. I could not remember what I did yesterday. I had to log on to my computer and read old emails to try to piece it all together.
This happens periodically, happened about a month ago, too. I've linked these memory loss episodes to new cycle 24 sunspots. Check out Space Weather today:

blaze I know there are other reasons.
But this happens everything I get a big whif of phthalates.
The memory foam in my mattress was the worse. Same thing happened.
I had to get another cheaper on that didnt have that foam and it was fine, but I didnt sleep because it wasnt supportive.
Went back to the one with memory foam and told them to KEEP THE PLASTIC ON IT. I put a piece of foam on top with a cover and it works.
Theres nothing I can cover the chair with come to think.
Im just gonna get back my $180

returned the chair.
Now Im in my 6 year old uncomfortable chair but without all the throat closisng up, severe dizzyness and dread hyperactive symptoms.

multiple chemical sensitivity
usually comes out of nowhere, one day you have to stop wearing perfume or you get a huge whif of gassoline and then you react to the smell of plastic.
It really was the last thing I expected when I was younger.
I was in love with my cologne!!! I would douse it on.
Now I cant even wear a little bit.
