HI I been fighting with most of the symptoms of Lyme for 2 years.

I have not been dx'ed but I have been going to the doctor to try to figure out what it is.

My doctor doesn't believe in cronic Lyme. Since I started my journey to wellness I have had upp surgery,
xrays for cancer and a bunch of other tests so far no luck.

I used to live in Wisconsin and I made firewood so I had ticks on me all the time since I was 7 years old.
I really started feeling bad 2 years ago along with getting Angular cheilitis cracks in the corners of my mouth.
Is this common with lyme ?

I've been getting Angula cheilitis repeatedly in the last few months. My internist's nurse said it's fungal. I've been in Lyme treatment for five years, so that's five years of antibiotics, which certainly could make me prone to fungal and yeast issues.

So I don't know how much the Angular cheilitis is due to Lyme or being run down from the antibiotics, in my case.

I also take B vitamins because cracks in the corner of the mouth can be a B deficiency. However, when my dentist looked at mine, he agreed with my nurse, said it was fungal.

Thanks for the reply Jill, my Doctor said it could be bacterial or viral she gave me some big pills that melted in your mouth, was a while ago forgot what it was called but it's for thrush. It fixed the cracks but latter it came back.

This forum really helped me turn my life in the right direction, a while back I kinda gave up and started gaining weight and quit walking or doing anything but playing unreal hence my nick toecutter lol.

Since I got sick

1. quit smoking (nonstop sinus infections)
2. quit drinking (Diarrhea)
3. joined a diskgolf leage
4. quit eating bad food like corn milk gluton ect.

It's kinda hard when peeps say,man you look so good but you move like a old man.
The pain in the joints in the morning is so bad but I found if you start slow and work into it the pain gets less. This sickness cleaned up my life I know I couldn't quit smoking unless I felt this bad,no cigs for 2 years yay !!
I feel way better now then I did year ago.
I work as a toolmaker/cnc

I'm 47 years old and feel like 100 but I look good lol. crazy stuff !!!

Good for you for quitting smoking. Everything you can do to help keep your body strong is good, because Lyme and the other tick-borne diseases are so hard on our organs, cells, muscles, nerves, brain, you name it.

This is a wonderful forum. I think you will find plenty of great information and support here.

I get this all the time. For me, it is diet related.

If I am exposed to food that does not agree with me (eg. wheat), the corners of my mouth split open.

Angular Chetilitis

====================

This is the only lip balm that does not make matters worse for me - there are no petroleum products in it at all:

Nanak's Lip Smoothee (unscented).

All the others (and they were all "natural") made this worse.

And, as I also had lots of mouth ulcers, andrographis cleared up 4 straight years of apthous ulcers and burning.

I get it from www.vitacom.com - Planetary Formulas. Within two weeks, my mouth was so much better. Amazing.

See these two book for details on andrographis. Do not take it until you've read all about it as it can make you tired. However, you can just take one and swirl it around your mouth. It's bitter but it works so it is so worth it

This book, by an ILADS member LLMD, holds great information about treatments options and support measures:

I've gotten these cracks in the corners of my mouth on and off for decades. They are really awful! I always found that probiotics, good bacteria, was the only thing that helped, including Threelac.

But recently when I went on abx for LD, the cracks got really bad! The other thing I found that helps is nystatin cream, which is prescription. That makes them go away pretty fast. So both would be good.

It sounds like the andrographis would be good, also.
