I was diagnosed with lyme while pregnant 4 years ago. We treated off and on for the first three years before it became nurological and required much more intensive treatment.
It is now a year later and I feel great, most days. I am no long taking antibiotics and if I keep my healthy life habits I feel great. If I start to eat unhealthy foods, lack exercise, vitamins, or sleep I feel bad.
We are going to try for our second and final baby next summer. My LLMD says I can discontinue treatment if I feel better. He does not fear relapse. My LLMD is in MO and is highly respected and is trusted by many on the board.
He truly believes given the right situation lyme can be beat. And only if I have current symptoms should I treat during pregnancy.
My question isn't whether I should treat during pregnancy. It is how much longer I should treat now. My LLMD is fine with stopping treatment given my symptoms but I fear relapse.
Even more so since our baby countdown is on.
This may sound so stupid to many of you. Just looking for feedback.

If I was feeling great most days off abx. I would stay off the abx. until you were close to ready to try to conceive.
You aren't going to try to conceive until at least a year from now, right?
I have been off abx. for 8 months now and feel 95%. I am going to try to conceive in 4-5 months most likely. I got my script for abx. and I am wondering when I should begin taking them, I am thinking probably a month or so before trying to conceive.

Based on my discussions with my LLMD, he advocates treating for 2 months after resolution of all symptoms, then going off antibiotics for 1-2 months, and following that with an antibiotic "challenge" -- a single large dose of something like doxy. If it causes a herx, it suggests a reemergence of the infection and the need for further treatment.
