Per doctor's orders, I'm to mix the quinine powder from the capsule with food but it tastes terrible! They threw up after they ate their quinine-tainted applesauce.
The kids are only 4 and 6 years old and can't swallow the capsules.
Any ideas to make it more palatable?

Maybe try chocolate pudding or yogurt...I don't think applesauce masks the flavor much.
Another option would be a good compounding pharmacy.
One other idea is to have them suck on an ice cube or popsickle to make their tongues a little numb before they take it so they can't taste it as much.
Just curious - what babs protocol are you on for your kids? Can you give me the full protocol? Also, did your kids test positive? If so, was it a clinical diagnosis?
One of my boys may have kicked his babs...still waiting to see but the other is still battling it. The one still battling it tested positive for babs duncani. Their protocol is Mepron/artemisinin. He recently started biaxin with this protocol.

Just an idea, mix dosage with small amount of strong flavored liquid( Jello mix before it is refrigerated, choco milk) use only like a teaspoon if it will mix in that amount.pull it up into a kids medicine syringe have them close their mouth,
put syringe between cheek and very back teeth, push plunger so it squirts into back of mouth, not too fast so they dont choke.
not many taste buds back there, its fast. my kids would still hold their nose, which was good , then they had to swallow

It may help tp let them use the sryinge in the bathtub as a squirt gun, if you have the energy to clean it up.
Another idea is to draw up plain juice so you can practice . and they can try themselves like a game. when they are used to it, then try with the meds
The only other thing I can think of is mixing it with just a little juice and using a straw. Only then if they dont like it, they wont finish it.

They are pulsing 10 days of clindamycin plus quinine with ten days of biaxin and plaquenil for at leat two rounds. They didnlt test postive for it but LLMD likes to treat Lyme, babs and bart for everyone.
I don't know what to do if they won't take it, though!
