My doc said I should use Glutathoine nebulized. But, she didn't tell me where to get the glutathoine or how much to use or how often.

I ve tried for 10 days and now she is on vacation. So, any help or experience using this would be great.

Thanks

Hi Minerva,

You can get it from Key Compounding Pharmacy- details here:

Key Pharmacy Compounding Center
23422 Pacific Highway South, Kent, WA 98032
Phone (206) 878-3900 or (800) 878-1322
Fax (206) 878-1114 or (888) 878-1118
www.keynutritionrx.com
email: [email protected]

You will need your doc to send them a prescription. You can nebulize between 2mls once daily or even 3mls twice daily, depending on how it makes you feel, and what you can afford. It has to be shipped cold and stored in refrigerator at all times.

I have some attachments with info on it, but can't attach to this message, so if you want to PM me an email address to fwd to you, please do.

Hope this helps.

Elaine

My Glutathione RX is from:

Wellness Pharmacy
3401 Independence Dr., Ste 231
Birmingham, Alabama 35209
1/800-227-2627
1/205-879-6551
not sure about fax number

My LLMD faxed or phoned the RX into them and they shipped the nebulizer device ($65) and one month supply of premixed glutathione and sodium chloride solution.

From what I understand it can come premixed or you mix the two before using.

My other LLMD is calling in a larger bottle volume as he says it is cheaper than buying the daily premixed vials which were about a $1 per vial for .25, so a tiny amount. That was about $26 for a 30 day supply, but 3 of the vials were empty when it arrived. The caps had not been tightly secured and the serum leaked all out into the bubble wrap protective bag.

So, if you receive premix daily vials from Wellness Pharmacy make sure you check each vial on receipt and call them if any have leaked out. Not sure if that is an ongoing issue with them or just a freak thing with my shipment, but 3 were emptied out.

Minerva, I am confused. You said you did it for 10 days and now don't know where to get it. I assume that means your doctor gave you samples to try before ordering? But you apparently have the nebulizing device, perhaps already from other medications? If not, you need the nebulizer and the medication. Just an fyi note as others have said the glutathione has to be shipped and maintained refrigerated.

You said your doctor is now on vacation, maybe his nurse could call in the RX to a compounding pharmacy who could ship it to you? I am sure that any of the compounding pharmacies are likely capable of doing that. You might even find one locally near you. There is a website online for an association of compounding pharmacists with a locator link to find one near you.

Others that my LLMDs are used are:

Clark's Pharmacy
Bellevue, Washington

Mark Clark (parmacist) is wonderful for answering any questions. This is one of the most consumer service oriented pharmacies I have used thusfar. But, learned this winter that they shut down during heavy snowstorms. My RX refill was held up for well over 2 weeks. I have read a few comments on boards where that appears to be an ongoing seasonal issue with them and no other alternative process in place, just so you know.

There is also a compounding pharmacy in Santa Ana, CA that one of my LLMDs uses for some things:
McGuff's Pharmacy.

It seems like they use different pharmacies for different things unrelated to location etc. My LLMDs don't use the same pharmacy as each other and don't even use the same pharmacy for all things they call in for me. There is a variability factor that I don't yet quite understand as to why things go to different pharmacies. Maybe it is nothing more than just sharing business practices.

My LLMD Rxed the drops from Key pharmacy so I could try that first before getting the nebulizer. (I have asthma, so it might be covered.)

However, the week I did the nasal drops, I took a massive nose-dive in functioning. Sx-flare city!

So, I am waiting to try it again and see if that was the culprit. I did try a few times using my oxygen (by canula) right after doing the drops, as a sort of pseudo-nebulizer. Don't know if that hurt or helped.

sorry ..I don't seem to make much sense these days.

My doc told me to do this and gave me a nebulizer at my appointment.
I was told she would call in the script for the Glutathoine. I kept calling back to get the script but no luck then she went on vacation.

Her receptionest told me that I did not need a script that I could get it at Safeway. Iam really starting to lose fatih in these follks.
No directions.....no how much.....when or what to look out for. Thank God I have you folks to ask.

Thanks everyone for your help and thoughts!!!!

Safeway?! I doubt it. Be careful. Got my first bottle at my health food store .. got home & read ingredients more carefully..... silica! a big NO NO. Could be disaster inhaled. (potentially dangerous/damaging to lungs)

You need highest quality pharmaceutical grade. I mix my own w/ reverse osmosis (very pure) H20 & had to calculate. Will have to locate my bottle to give you more exact info- brand, etc. Online order. I'm thinking they are 100mg caps... and I made up 2-3 in about 12ml H20. (neb 6cc/ml 2x/day) Just wanted to warn you about the safeway thing for now.
