I'm not sure if what I have is air hunger. Sometimes I feel a need to yawn in a certain way
that brings air into a certain place. It's often hard to get the air into that place, but
it feels good when it gets there. But then I have to keep doing it. Regular breaths aren't
satisfying when this happens, but I never feel like I'm suffocating. This has been happening
since I was a kid, when my pediatrician said it was from anxiety.
My babesia blood tests were negative, but I have severe night sweats, so I am being treated for
babesia by my ILADS LLMD.

It is this constant feeling (pressure, presence, something) on the left side of my chest, and it makes my breathing a conscious effort. When I'm really tired, skip sleep, or "herxing" or whatever, it gets so out of control every breath is a huge lungful that doesn't satisfy.
This symptom has gone down so much with Biaxin treatment I can't believe it, it's really a nice relief.

That yawn problem you described was one of my forms of air hunger. It went away with treatment.

Yes, that's what I experience as well.
My babesia tests come back negative too, and I'm not being treated for it, so the symptoms continue, although it's not as bad as it had been.
It seems like the only time I get releif is at night when I sleep, and sometimes I don't even get that--I wake up feeling like I can't breathe.
