I am so tired on this stuff. I am thinking of just stopping it. I can't go through everyday like this, it is horrible. Been on it about a week, maybe two.

Anyone else like SUPER tired on it?

My dark undereye circles are sooo much worse, I actually look scary, like I put dark eyeshadow under there.

I feel like I am living in this horrible fatigue-fog. I could fall asleep at any moment. I need at least 13 hours of sleep every night.

Anyone else? Should I just stop it?

Hoping it get answers soon.....I can't take this!

And I am only at 100mg per day.

YES!

I titrated up to 200 mg every other day, and had awful fatigue.

I tried cutting the dose in half, and even down to 1/8, but could not tolerate it.

After a month, I had to stop. I still work and it was costing me too much leave.

I had the same problem when on a full dose of Bactrim.

Now I'm doing a 1 week pulse of Factive and I am still getting fatigue, but only bad for part of the day, so it is "doable."

Plaquenil is a cyst buster, so it is possible it is breaking cysts and putting you in a herx. I'd talk to your doctor about it. You may want to stick it out a little longer to see if it gets better.

I was on it for a few years. I sometimes suspected it made me tired, but not that tired. And the reduction in inflammation I had from it was better than any other medication.

I know it made my husband tired in the beginning. He eventually built up a tolerance and/or busted enough cysts.

I have been on 200 mg 2X a day since Dec. It was really tough in the beginning and still have a tough time w/fatigue, but it is much better.

I feel I am slowly turning the corner w/all the medication I'm taking. I feel like the little engine who could some days and haven't given up-

Keep resting when you can or need to-you're healing during these times.

Not tired, CATATONIC!

tried several times, tried to ramp it up really slowly but Plaquenil simply builds up so no matter how slowly I tried to go, I was glued to the bad, staring at the ceiling all day long.

I had to give it up, as even 50 mg/day gave me that deep, deep, deep unbearable fatigue

Thanks for the responses.

WHY is it doing this to us, while others can take it and barely notice anything??? It seems like we are in the minority here. Lot of people add it to the drugs they are already taking, with no problems.

Is it just that it is hitting one of our infections that hard for some of us?

Or is it a processing issue, that we aren't processing it like others, so our bodies aren't handling the drug well?

For me the fatigue seems to be getting a little better, but I am only on 100mg total per day still.

HORRIBLE fatigue has been a HUGE problem for me since right after my likely tick exposure, so I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility I'm herxing.

I am so used to coping with fatigue that I am trying not to let this get me down, and I'm just gonna continue on Plaquenil for a few weeks to see if it lifts.

HATE IT though....I feel for you all that know what this is like. Blah!

Do all of you who are relating to me with this have babesia too?

Or do you all have fatigue as one of your worst symptoms already?

I don't have any positive babs tests, my LLMD is unsure if I have it. I do have Bart.

I have been taking mino and zith for 7 months, and when I added a 1/2 dose of Bactrim I didn't have this problem.

But at full dose of bactrim, I got horrible fatigue.

So we "switched" to plaq, and I got the same thing.

Now I'm on a 1 week pulse of Factive and guess what? The SAME heavy fatigue popped up.

On just mino and zith, I feel pretty good, but I must still have something just below the surface that kicks up this fatigue.

It is not one of my worst symptoms on its own, it seems only certain meds bring it out and THEN it becomes my worst symptom.

No idea why.
