I would like to hear if there are any people who have improved with babs while self treating . I have no affordable insurance and must simply help myself .
All suggestions are appreciated .

Deseret Biologicals has homeopathic remedies for babesia in their borrelia series. Used in conjunction with an infrared light, that might work. You can look at the PE1/Bionic thread and ask there for details on how.
Otherwise, you've got herbs, and I don't think any one herb will cure babesia. Dr. Zhang's artemisia is probably your best bet .... but I took it along with prescription meds, and it still didn't beat my babs.

If you take artemisinin, you MUST take it with something like zithromax... or you will quickly become resistant to the artemisinin.
Maybe you could save up for the zith and then do a few months treatment??

There is a program to provide Mepron to people that cannot afford it and who are without insurance; it is a pretty powerful treatment for babs, used with zith.
Check it out -- I do not remember the name, but it is something like "Bridges to Access" or something like that. Do a search in medical questions on free mepron.
A treatment for babs that I am using may be not expensive, if the medicines are purchased on-line or in Mexico; clindamycin and quinine sulfate for 10 days.

There are so many like me who are uninsurable and not eligible for medicaid in their home states .

My Babesia symptoms were mild, so after two months of excellent response to Mepron/Zith,
I'm doing ok with bits and pieces, here and there,regularly or irregularly:
(Right now i'm not taking Plaquenil or Coptis at all.)

Lots of folks improve on mepron and zith, that is now the recommended treatment by many llmds.
Mepron is mighty expensive though, and you should definitely check out that program from the manufacturer to provide it for free to those who cannot afford its huge cost.
Before they figured that treatment out, the standard treatment was clindamycin and quinine. Yes, I have heard of folks improving on this, and it is what I am taking currently. My doc prescribed it for 10 days.
Hope that helps! I also like cryptolepsis, the herbal supplement, though I think by itself it would not be as powerful as the other two treatments (mepron and zith, clindy & quinine).
You should read as much about this as you can, knowledge is power!

I like Vermontlymie's idea, get the clindamycin from mexico, but instead of buying the quinine sulfate get the quinine powder from rain-tree.com because it has a mixture of alkaloids so it will work more effectively. It would essentially be the same as taking quinamax which is available almost everywhere except the U.S., it's a mixture of the alkaloids from the cinchoa plant that have been synthesized. Then of course you can add in artemisinin and cryptolepsis or whatever else. If you decide to go that route and need help figuring the correct dose of the powder to take let me know. I used it and I thought it worked really well.
Also if rain-tree.com is out of the quinine powder you can also get it at ktbotanicals.
