Hey all.

I have a supplement I am looking into taking, and it has an array of ingredients. It is actually the bovine glandular I was looking into, called DSF Formula.

One other concern I have, besides the "bovine" part, is the chlorella in it, 50 mg.

I am always so cautious to take the purest chlorella...so I worry about this chlorella. Who knows where they are getting it from. I will likely call and ask, but I'm already assuming they won't be able to give me any info on the purity of the chlorella they use in the supplement.

My question is, since I take loads of PURE chlorella (certified to have no contaminants) daily, would that pull out anything in this other chlorella in my adrenal supplement?

Or would it still be bad to take another chlorella, and I shouldn't expose myself to "questionable" chlorella?

I am having all kinds of problems deciding if this supplement will be safe or not. I apologize for bothering you all again, but this is something I wonder about. I have also seen so many supplements out there that have chlorella as an ingredient, and it makes me wonder, with how contaminated chlorella from China is, if it's best to avoid these?

I guess I'm hoping my safe chlorella will make up for this and I can still take it?

The binding power of chlorella is much stronger than anything else metals will encounter in your gut (assuming you don't take DMSA at the same time). So once chlorella gets ahold of a heavy metal it doesn't let it go.

Plus the only chlorella that is completely pure is grown in test tubes and not it's natural environment so it doesn't always completely form the binding properties that it should and it definitely doesn't have the chlorella growth factor and other nutrition of natural chlorella.

This is why Dr. K and the other doctors he works with mention to take Chlorella Vulgaris, it's the highest in nutrition and assuming someone hasn't grown it in a tub full of broken CFL bulbs things should be okay.

CHLORELLA (pyrenoidosa and Vulgaris)

Chlorella Pyrenoidosa - better absorption of toxins, but harder to digest

Chlorella Vulgaris -higher Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF) content, easier to digest, but less
metal absorbing capability.

Chlorella Vulgaris has a lower protein content then Chlorella
Pyreneidosa, but has a thinner cell wall and is therefore better tolerated by people with
digestive problems
.
Healing Benefits:

Chlorella has multiple health inducing effects. Listed below are just a few of the published
effects that have been demonstrated. -
* Antiviral (especially effective against the cytomegaly virus and herpes)
* Toxin binding (mucopolysaccharide membrane) for all known toxic metals,
environmental toxins, such as dioxin, and others

* Repairs and activates the body's detoxification functions

* Dramatically increa1es reduced glutathione

* Sporopollein is as effective as cholestyramin in binding neurotoxins and
more effective in binding toxic metals then any other natural substance.
* Various chiorella peptides restore coeruloplasmin and metallothioneine
* Lipids (12.4 %) alpha-and gamma-linoleic acid help to balance the increased
intake of fish oil during our detoxification program anp are necessary for a
multitude of functions, including formation of their peroxisomes.
* Methyl-cobolamine is food for the nervous system. It restores damaged
neurons and has its own detoxifying effect.

* Chlorella Growth Factor helps the body detoxify itself in a yet not
understood and profound way. It appears that over millions of years chlorella
has developed specific detoxifying proteins and peptides for every existing
toxic metal.

* The porphyrins in chlorophyl have their own strong metal binding effect. Chlorophyll also
activates the PPAR-receptor on the nucleus of the cell which is responsible for the
transcription of DNA and coding the formation of the peroxisomes (see fish oil), opening
of the cell wall (unknown mechanism) which is necessary for all detoxification procedures.

* Super nutrient: with a 50-60% amino acid content it is an ideal nutrient for
vegetarians. Methylcobolamin - the most easily absorbed and utilized form of
B12, B6, minerals, chlorophyll, beta carotene etc.
* Immune system strengthening
* Restores bowel flora
* Digestive aid (bulking agent)
* Alkalinizing agent (important for patients with malignancies)

Recommended Dosage:

Start the standard adult maintenance dosage for the 6-24 month active detox:
1 gram (approximately 4 tablets) 3-4 times a day
Incorporate a more active detox by increasing the ChIorella dose to 3 grams (approximately
12 tablets) whenever Cilantro is being taken. This must be taken 1 week intermittently,
followed by 2-3 weeks on the above adult maintenance dose (ie 1 week on, 2-3 weeks on the
standard maintenance program).

Chlorella must be taken 30 minutes before the main meals and at bedtime.
This way chIorella is exactly in that portion of the small intestine where the bile squirts into
the gut at the beginning of a meal, carrying with it toxic metals and other toxic waste. These are bound by the chIorella cell wall and carried out via the digestive tract./When amalgam fillings are removed,the higherdose shouldbe givenfor 2 days before and
2-5 days after the procedure(the morefillings areremoved,the longerthe higher dose should
be given).
If youtake VitaminC duringyour detoxprogram,take it as far awayfrom Chlorellaas
possible.VitaminC is the only substanceknownso far thatcan knockmercury off its tight
bind in the chlorellamembrane.' .
Side Effects:
Most side effects reflect the toxic effect of the mobilized metals which are shuttled through
the organism. This problem is instantly avoided by significantly increasing the cnlorella
dosage, not by reducing it. --
Small chlorella doses mobilize more metals then are bound in the gut, large chlorella doses,
bind more toxins then are mobilized /
Some people have problems digesting the cell membrane of chlorella. It is hard and .'
sophisticated. The indtilstryhas developed several ways of 'cracking' the membrane.
However, mechanical destruction of the membrane leads to subsequent oxidative damage to
some of the most precious ingredients (such as ChIorella's fatty acids).
BioPure uses a patented process by which stiff structural elements of the cell wall are cracked
by using sound waves (similar to the process called lithotripsy), keeps the extra cellular
chlorella barrier intact, thus protecting all of the cells organelles.
Chlorella can also be made bio-available by dissolving the cell wall enzymatically. BioPure
produces a proprietary mix of sound cracked chlorella with specific enzymes, which kick into
action once chIorella has arrived in the alkaline section of the small intestine. This product is
available as BioPure Enzyme Potentiated Chlorella or EPC.

Another solution for people with digestive problems is Chlorella Vulgaris. Chlorella
Vulgaris has a thinner cell wall and is therefore better tolerated by people with digestive
problems.
Some manufactures have created cell wall free chlorella extracts (NDF or Nanonized Detox
Factors, PCA or Peptide Clathrating Agent) which are quite costly but easily absorbed. NDF
is available as NDF and NDF Plus. It contains micronized or nanonized chlorella and cilantro
as the primary ingredients. We recommend cycling NDF Plus into the program: 3 weeks on, 3
. weeks off.
