Hi Everyone, I'm worried...the past few days have been very difficult for me and I could really use your advice.
I had a positive Igm WB test back in May, but I think I've had lyme since 2001. I was treated with 30 days of Doxy in May, but still having symptoms. I'm awaiting PCR testing from a doctor that I'm currently seeing.
I'm not taking any meds currently, but have a new symptom that I wanted to share and see if it's lyme related because I'm getting worried. During the past few days I've had excruciating pain in my femur, to the point where I get shooting pains if I move the wrong way. I can't even sit with my legs crossed because it's so painful. Of course, I worry that it's some other illness, but then I remind myself that I've had strange things like this come and go before. So here are my questions for you guys...
1. Is this common with lyme?
2. What are the chances that I will get a positive result after doing 1 mo. of abx about a month before bloodwork?
3. How is the PCR testing at MDL as far as you guys are concerned?

i definitely get that. in the beginning...when looking for an answer i would ask the docs, " are you sure i don't have bone cancer?" this lyme stuff stinks and can really put off crazy symptoms.

yep, guessing Lyme causes this. I had it terribly in shins, forearms, etc. It used to make me nauseated. It's one symptom that fortunately disappeared with Abx treatment.

Thanks so much for helping to ease my anxiety-that's exactly what came to mind. I'm hoping it will pass once my tests are back and hopefully I'll be back on the abx.

I got bone pain really bad too. My dr used to look at me funny when I said that. I thought bone cancer too. My grandpa died of Multiple Myeloma.
It has gone away with treatment. Comes back sometimes though.
Maybe you should get checked for Bartonella too? That can cause pain in legs & feet.

I believe the doctor ran the whole panel for co infections, Western Blot, etc. when he did the PCR testing through MDL labs-now just awaiting the results. I hope this is further confirmation that this really is lyme so that I can begin some long term treatment to resolve this.
Can anyone tell me if the low dose of 200 mg of Doxy that I took about a month before testing will affect my blood test results?

Yes. Around a year after initial symptoms of flu.
I had screaming femur/tib/fib bone pains. I sought
help from Endo because I thought because I have
thyroid problem it was related after MD could not
find anything. It was not thyroid either. This
was about 6mths. after lung symptoms. It
progressed to be bone pain all over. I now know
it it common to find ketes there on autopsy. But
it took another year to find out for myself exactly what it was.
