I started treatment for Lyme a month ago (Doxy and Ceftin). Over the past 10 months I've had various symptoms come and go, mostly nero. This morning I woke up with 2 bumps in my left armpit -they are slightly swollen and hurt to the touch. I also have a strange feeling in the left side of my throat, doesn't hurt when swallow, but hurts if I apply pressure with my hand or turn head a certain way which causes pressure on that area.
Can this be swollen lymph nodes? What causes this? Ofcourse, my LLMD is on vacation this week and my next appt is not until next Thursday. I would like to avoid calling my regular MD, since he has been useless during this whole ordeal...guess I will wait a few days and see what happens...Maybe it will go away <fingers crossed>.

It could be swollen glands. A lot of times when you start treatment, you have a lot of die-off. My understanding is that the lymphatic system sweeps those toxins out of your body.
When there is too much toxin to deal with, your lymph nodes can become swollen.
You can try massaging the areas, and of course drink tons of water with lemon to help your body flush the toxins.

I have been in treatment for 15 months and constantly have swollen glands. Mostly in my neck, but sometimes in my armpits.
Not sure if it is a toxin thing, for me anyway, because, I took a 3 month break from antibiotics and still had them. For me, I think it is the Lyme or Bart or some other co-infection.

it definitely resembles sore lymph nodes to me and are a symptom of lyme. it was one of my first original symptoms.
i had soreness under my armpits, behind my ears, and especially in my groin.
it lasted quite a while but did clear up with long term treatment.
