My 2 year old got stung by a wasp a week and a half ago. Of course, it was swollen for a day or so, but that had gone away and there was just the red mark where the sting was.
Now this evening I noticed that there is a rash on his calf right close to the sting mark, an inch by an inch and a half large.
I know wasps don't carry Lyme, but could this be a bullseye from an earlier bite, or could the wasp sting have brought out a latent infection?
He has had some unexplained fevers over the past few months, along with complaining about odd little aches and pains, so I'm really upset right now.
I took a picture, but I don't know how to post it. I'll take the camera to the doctor tomorrow in the event it's no better. For what it's worth, I'm going to request a Lyme test.

If the area looks infected you may want to take him to an urgent care tonight or tomorrow AM.
He could have easily developed cellulitis from the wasp sting (the stinger creates a break in skin allowing bacteria to enter in).
Is the area red, tender, warm to touch? You should trace around the edges of the rash/red area on his calf with an ink pen or marker. That way you can see how fast it is spreading.
Also, are there any streaks going up his leg? Any fever today? These symptoms would be signs of infection.
Go with your gut Starfall and have him checked out.

Took my son to the urgent care this morning.
The doc commented that yeah, his leg looks nasty, and he thinks it's infected.
I specifically asked if this means that he is allergic to wasps/bees, and he didn't think so.
He gave an antibiotic and prednisone, and I have to take him to his regular doctor on Monday to be re-evaluated.

I'm relieved to hear that you had him seen today. Watch the little guy closely as sometimes these skin infections can be difficult to treat.
Did you trace around the red/rash area on his leg? I would keep an eye on it to make sure that the rash does not spread. If it continues to spread despite treatment he may need to be put on a different type of antibiotic.

Just between us I think wasps are getting nastier.
My daughter still has a hole in her forehead from a hit 3 years ago.
