I was given this BLT tincture to take earlier this year. I had some reactions that I wouldn't really classify as a herx. I wonder what other people have experienced with this tincture? I can't seem to find any real feedback from anyone that has used it, only testimony from the Dr prescribing it.

I especially would be interested in hearing something positive about it.

My husband took it after 6 months of IV abx. While taking it, he was not taking any pharmaceutical abx. He did herx on it (sorry, don't remember exactly what the herx consisted of), and was able to stay off abx for about 6-7 weeks while taking the BLT. So I'd say he had a pretty positive experience with it.

The first few times of taking it, I only started at 5 drops, in a small amount of water.

I got dizzyness (almost vertigo I'd say) and headache. I think the headache was on the forehead.

The dizzyness I was only getting the first week or so, but the headaches stuck around for awhile (as in, they didn't stop happening after the first week), but only following taking the BLT. So by the time I was ready to take it again, the headache was gone. So it wasn't continuous.

I'm up to about 20 drops at a time now (once or twice a day if I remember) and it still will give me headaches. I think for me it definitely must be killing something.

What did your doctor tell you about it, riverpatrol? They didn't really tell me anything about it, like what to expect, or if it helps a lot of people. So I have been curious about others' experiences as well.

I'm glad I'm taking it, because it does seem to be effective against something.

ps--sometimes if i took BLT before bed, I'd just wake up with a headache in the morning, so it's not always RIGHT after the dose that I get the headache. But sometimes it's within an hour or two.

Hi Hoosiers51,

My doctor told me it kills lyme and bart. He told me to start out slow because I would definitely herx from it.

I got the headaches too, but I wasn't sure if it was from the tincture. I had never had headaches as a symptom before. My headaches were severe, and would last for over a week sometimes. And they did always seem to start in the morning.

I have been taking BLT now for a few months. It's hard to tell for me what it did because I was on several anti lyme and anti bart meds along with it. I can tell you, though, that most of my symtptoms are now gone so the BLT probably played into my recovery.

Bartonella Lyme Tincture. As far as I know.

It is made by a health practitioner out west....I can give a link to the site if you want, but there is no info about the tinctures on his site, only his phone number to use for ordering.

If you want to know what's in it, just ask. I don't have the bottle on me right now, but there are like 6 herbs in it. I could type it out if anyone is interested.

Eupatorium Perfoliatum (B oneset)
Junglans Nigra (Black Walnut hulls)
Lomatium Dissectum, Smilax (Sarsaparilla)

Lymers, did you take abx or just do the natural stuff? What all else did you take and how long did it take you to get well?

I've stopped all abx because I just can't take it anymore and am trying to learn as much as I can about the various herbs, supplements, etc.

Anything you (or anyone else else) can tell me about what to take I would appreciate it. I have so much to learn about this stuff and it gets pretty confusing at times reading everything.

Look forward to learning more about the natural route for killing all these bugs in my body.

By the way, I've been eating following the Weston Price "diet" http://www.westonaprice.org/. Not really a diet but a very healthy way of eating (in my opinion). I am feeling much better since eating this way.

I'm still dealing with lyme issues, of course, but at least I'm feeling better from eating healthier. Now if I can just learn how to kill off all the lyme bugs and learn the proper way to remove toxins I think I have a fighting chance to get better.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Gary
