Recently, I have had alot of urgency and suprapubic pressure.

Had anyone heard of this before. I have had lyme for a while now and this has never been an issue.

Just wondering what you guys have heard.

Yes, I have and that was before Lyme treatment (some lyme meds can mess with the bladder)

The year before my lyme diagnosis (took 10+years) I had 8 bladder infections.

My daughter has bladder problems.

Her LL psychiatrist was going over a list of Lyme symptoms and asked if she had bladder irritability so it must be common.

Yup - my daughter also. Lately she has been up many times during the night.
It's a Lyme related thing - but not sure how.

Thanks everyone.

What medications seem to make it worse?

I was taking Rifampin before all this started. I have been treating for over 5 years and never had this symptom.

d-Mannose can work wonders. Many see great improvement with this.

Many here also have Interstitial Cystitis from Lyme.

Go here for more info ( or do a search here on IC ):

I have days when I pee every 15 or 20 minutes and my bladder is full each and every time. I can drink 3 glasses of water all day and pee out gallons that night. Just recently that happened. Kept me up until 1am.

Don't know what causes this. One theory is maybe my body is trying to get rid of an overload of toxins. Another theory, it is just LD reaking havoc on my body.

There are certain hormones that affect how much we urinate.

Yours could be off.

Thanks for the interesting links.

Keebler's "Lectin Lock" link was especially interesting. Cranberry juice does not agree with the daughter - acid reflux developes.
She has no pain, burning or blood in urine.

Lymetoo suggested Interstitial Cystitis. I had ruled this out because she has no pain. However one of her links says early symptoms are frequency and urgency. So maybe this is early symptoms? I will discuss this with her LLMD next week. She has an appt. with urologist (sp) in a few weeks. Interesting too, it says symptoms wax and wane - which is her case.

Top irritating items for the IC bladder are helpful and I copied this for my daughter. Fruit juice and multivitamins are on the list. Vit C and B6 especially.

Ultimately, it seems the common thread is Lyme. One symptom linked to another to host a whole series of problems whether inflammation or hormone imbalance results - what is the CAUSE?

It would be really great if we could find a "natural" way to deal with this.

one of lyme's jobs, as with other species like humans, dogs, parasites....is to survive.

So lyme likes the bladder to help spread the babies out as you pee. Most other animals pee outside...and what is in the pee is spread.

not too fancy, but effective.

I had urinary problems when I first began abx treatment.

The sx were similar to cystitis, but the culture that was done yielded so many organisms the lab insisted the sample was contaminated.

Who knows?

Thankfully, that has not been a problem long term, for me.

i had special testing; they put water into you and see how long it takes before bladder releases it, etc.

i ended up having BLADDER SPASMS; i thought it was IC also.

also ENABLEX helped me for incontinence brought on my hip replacement surgery 2 yrs. ago; had problem for 11 months after surgery until this magic pill came along.
