Did anyone have response to malarone after little/no noticeable response to Mepron? I know LymeMD blogs about it being better than Mepron for that weird no-name parasite thing.

Lyme/Babesia, with a minor impact on Bart maybe. Still an incomplete treatment since it misses the cyst form of Lyme, but moderately aggressive and more than I've ever been given.

I seem to do a little better on Malarone than off it. But I don't really seem to have any "herx" symptoms from Malarone.
I don't feel that Mepron was super-helpful to me. Malarone, I would say, is more helpful.
And for those reading this that don't "know me"...I did test positive for babesia duncani and positive on Igenex FISH, which is an important piece of info, because normally you'd think someone who doesn't respond much to Mepron might not even have babs.
I did seem to herx on Mepron, but I'm not sure that it ever helped much. And if it did, I'd say Malarone was more helpful.

I remember reading that the malarone is better for Babs D versus Babs M.
I was told by my child's LLMD that the Plaquenil will help the Bart a tad but predominantly will target the spirochete form of Lyme--I'm still not sure why this would be true since Plaquenil is an anti-malarial, but that is what he told me. I even asked him several times if it would target Babs at all, and he said no.
Biaxin targets Lyme--not sure what form or if it targets any co-infections.
So with this protocol, it seems like Babs D and Lyme would be covered fairly well and Bart only slightly.
What does your LLMD say of this treatment? Just curious........

I was on Mepron, currently on Malarone, and I was only ever positive for babesia microti (never babesia duncani). Personally, I find Malarone to be superior to Mepron for whatever bug it's hitting.
Mepron seemed to be making me deathly ill, but I didn't notice any improvement in symptoms and was relucant to call my deathly ill feeling a 'herx'. And with a $200 price tag, there was no way I was going to shell that out for several months without any glimmer of hope that I was improving.
Malarone helps.
