I just saw my LLMD the other day and is he putting me on Whelcol to clear toxins out of my body?

He did say Whelcol is a cholesterol medication. My cholesterol is 140.

Has anyone heard of this?

Yes it is very helpful, and yes it is a cholesterol med/ but in use with other Lymes meds and adxs after 6 years of treartment, I was feeling much better but needs to be used with other meds.... Look up 16th vol of Dr. Burrascanos treatment guidelines and he points out the helpful use of this drug and others....As I said my LLMD started me on it 6 yrs ago and I'm still taking it today for my Lymes Disease, you will find it on page 13/37 under Borrelia Neurotoxin in the Guidelines...
God Bless and Good Luck !!!!!!!!!!!

ps, you can find the guidelines here on lymenet

Yeah, some doctors use Welchol instead of Questran/Cholestyramine. Looks like your doc is following Dr. Shoemaker's research www.chronicneurotoxins.com
The label use of Welchol is for cholesterol, the off- label use is the toxin theory.
