I am watching the presentations at this time and have just finished watching the one by Ken Liegner, MD. I must say I was moved to tears. It would be nice to somehow keep this review process out there for newbies and also until a decision is made. Any suggestions anyone? I believe we owe it to the world to be holding our breath right now as even at the IDSA site, it says that if enough people aren't watching the presentations, they will be removed, and they are only going to be on there for a year also.

Guess we could click on and watch every now and then?

Would that do it?

i could add the link and a brief statement to listen to this as they are reading the lyme board or links i have sent to them in my WELCOME LETTER ?? what do you think?

i know i ended up sleeping all afternoon so missed that whole session and haven't heard this.

so it's something i could start doing daily as i read here.

abigail , thanks for calling our attention to this; we want it there for the entire year!!

Can CALDA / ILADS request a copy to post on their website(s)?

The point made that the hearing is good for newbies to watch is poignant. In fact, I might suggest it for doctors to watch.

I think we need to advocate for a way to keep that video accessible until the day there is no longer an urgent need for this forum.

P.S. This post should be moved to "Activism"

Betty,

I have been sending this link http://webcast.you-niversity.com/idsaArchives/

directly by PM to every "newbie" who posts in the "seeking a doctor" section since it became available.

The information is getting out there and I believe it is an important link, among others, for newbies to have.

Betty since we both use different lists and both reply to posters in "seeking", the issue is and has been covered and it goes directly to the poster via PM for them to keep in their files if they wish.

As to how to preserve it after IDSA wishes to take it down, that I cannot speak for.

Edit make to fix my error in posting the wrong that I have been using.

The IDSA is a piece of ****. They've made it extremely hard(even for me) for patients to easily view the Webcast at their website.

So, instead, you'll find the information on this website instead.

I like the last link as it goes directly to the presentations as well as to the heart of the matter.

Thanks Mike, I thought that was the link I had been using. Have to check my files, as your link is a much better one. I'm sure it was not the one I posted because when I opened your link that is the one I am accustomed to using.

Thanks again.

Edit: I did check this is the one I have been sending to new posters in seeking: http://webcast.you-niversity.com/idsaArchives/

Yeah, when you go to the actual IDSA link via the IDSA website, it gives all sorts of errors or says that "Plugins" aren't installed. Upon trying to install them, it still claims they aren't installed. I did 'everything' correctly, and it still would not let me view the files. It's them -- intentionally, causing issues.

I wonder of LDA or CALDA or some of the other Lyme organizations couldn't put some money together to have the entire hearing transcribed.

It would be nice to have all the slides, and all the words spoken, in written form and published as a booklet.

Then, we could give the booklet as a resource.

I will make this suggestion to CALDA, and perhaps some of you could tell your contacts at LDA or NatCat Lyme etc...

I am watching those parts I missed now and I appreciate the links.

Thanks much

It is possible to print out the written transcripts of each presenter as well as a copy of all of their slides plus their written documents from the IDSA website. Perhaps these documents could all be saved to your computer or to one of those little memory sticks for later usage when the IDSA removes everything from their website.

BettyG posted the link (above), but I will re-post it again here for your convenience. Scroll down below the section for the video to find the sub-heading "Presentations and Transcripts" and you will the links to each speaker's documents:

http://www.idsociety.org/Content.aspx?id=15026

If you decide to print it out, you will need two or more reams of paper plus a full new ink cartridge. That's why a memory stick might be a better way to capture this material.

I watch Arthur Weinstein's presentation often to gleem more of his incredible diagnostic wisdom concerning Lyme.

Are you sure you have that name right? He was the one that wanted Lyme disease in the bucket with all the other somatic illnesses (it is all in your head.)

I was being sarcastic abigail. I actually despise the trash he said that day. A sad excuse for a physician IMO. [Frown]

Well I was truly impressed with Steven Phillips, MD's presentation. Wasn't that something?
