Does Tindamax always make you feel sick?

I just started it on fri, supposed to pulse it 3 days per week (taking Rocephin on the other 4days).

I took it fri, sat, and sun and have suffered with terrible head pressure, dizziness, and nausea ever since. Just making me feel really cruddy.

How long does this last? Anything make the symptoms better? Will each pulse get easier?

Please let me know how what you think. I would greatly appreciate hearing your experiences and suggestions.

When I took Tindamax it made me feel very sleepy and yucky. Sleeping for a few hours after I took it really helped me. I would get up around 4am and take it and go back to bed and I would wake up feeling okay. Good luck.

Tindamax also made me need to take a nap - always felt better after. That went away after a while - a few weeks? But it can still make me feel tired.

Also I had to start taking Nexium: that helped so much with the nausea.

My LLMD had originally wanted to me to take it 3 days in a row - he changed that to every other day (M-W-F) when I told him about needing to take a nap.

oh yes: also drinking the lemon or lime juice in water helps: I love lime juice, so I squeeze a lime & add to a 1 litre bottle, fill with water - add that to a glass of water throughout the day. This is greatly diluted from what LLMDs say to take, but it works for me.

It could take you months before you feel better taking the Tinda, depending on how sick you were to begin with. Just keep telling yourself that this means it is working and this si good!

Is anyone taking another abx with Tindamax? I am taking Ceftin...and gradually working up the Tindamax.

Is it common to pulse it, because my LLMD, is looking at 500mg twice a day, after the intitial low dose to get me started.

I already have a stomachache after one pill. [Frown]

Presumably a person feels worse after starting tindamax because they are killing cysts. Just like a herx, it should get worse and then get better. If you have never taken a cyst buster before, it may take a while to get past this stage.

Some years back when everyone was on flagyl, it was advised to ramp up to the full dose. Don't know if anyone is doing that with tindamax. I had to switch from flagyl because one of the side effects is peripheral neuropathy, of which I already had enough from lyme.

I took Tindy, Biaxin & Ceftin in high doses together, no pulse

I'm taking Tindamax. The only side-effect for me was a feeling of tightening of the throat for a week or so. It went away.

I'm on Tindamax, Omnicef, Azith, Mepron, Lariam.

How many mg are you taking?

James

I'm supposed to take 500mg Tindamax BID 3days per week. I never ramp up on my antibiotics so I just jumped in taking the full dose as directed.

I guess I didn't even relate these symptoms to herxing since i've been on Plaquenil while treating with antibiotics. I was hoping that Plaquenil would be enough to prevent the cysts. Apparently not.

Still feel bad today. Was hoping to feel better(as always). I'm going to take this as a sign that my new combo is working as it should. It's not fun but if it works i'll suffer through.

These past couple months have been hard. I'm tired of backsliding, ready to move forward. I need to see some drastic improvements this month so that I can go back to work.

I just received my IV Glutathione in the mail today so hopefully a dose will help relieve some of these symptoms soon.

Thanks again for sharing your experiences with me.

James are you taking Tindamax everyday? I just wonder if the dosage my dr has me going for is too much.

Yes, I take it everyday. I'm taking 500mg (I think. I take one pill, whatever that is). My LLMD wanted 1000mg, but my med insurance wouldn't pay for it since it is an "off-label" dosage.

Tindamax is well known to be better tolerated than flagyl, but it still can have a number of side effects. I'm taking it every day , 500mg BID (Combined with 300mg of Onmnicef and 100mg Minocycline, per dose) and my side effects have been minimal. Initial nausea and dizziness eventually subsided in a few days, leaving only occasional nausea and loss of appetite. After some time, loose stool and diarrhea became an issue as was expected with this amount of antibiotics, but this quickly resolved with addition of a bacterial and yeast-based probiotic.

I should also note that this antibiotic combination eliminated that macropapular acne-like rash that was was present on my chest, upper arms, shoulders, and back.

Tindamax is a great antibiotic and has been shown to have cyst-busting activity.
