I am sure there are many who are uncertain about whether or not they should take the "swine flue"/ "Influenza A(H1N1)" vaccine. And I am sure they'd like to know how other people who have lyme have reacted.
It's well known that most things which suppress the immune system (normal influenza, mononucleosis, operations, other vaccines etc.) can make lyme worse, or could cause an outbreak of a latent lyme bacteria.
I though those who have taken the vaccine could post their experiences with it.
I have taken it. Took it on Thursday (today it's Saturday). I have not had a negative reaction on it yet. All I have felt is some discomfort on the injection site (not significant).

Today I am really fatigued, and have slept much more then normal. But besides that I have not noticed much.

A 5 yo child, I know, had the flu mist and regular flu shot 10? days ago and is sick with the, apparent, flu today.
He stopped most eating 3 days ago and, yesterday, had a bad cold, nausea, glassy eyes and today is totally wiped out, at home.
He was unable to Trick Or Treat last night.
His 3 yo sister who, also, had the flu mist and regular flu shot appears to be fine.
His mother and father, who have not had the vaccines, appear to be sick, as well.
That's all I know.

Even though people take the vaccine they are not sure to get protected.
"Like the seasonal flu vaccine, scientists expect the H1N1 vaccine to cut the risk of coming down with the flu by between 70 percent and 90 percent."
The people that I know who have taken the regular flu shot this year have not had any bad reactions to it.
The kids that I know who have taken the H1N1 vaccine have been fine, no adverse reactions.
I am not going to take either one, as I have had bad reactions to past flu shots.

It will be interesting to see what happens here in the USA.
The UK, Canadian, and European H1N1 vaccines all contain squalene (adjuvant), but the USA vaccines DO NOT contain squalene (supposedly, or at least so far).
If you Google `H1N1 vaccine deaths Sweden', you'll find many stories about 6 deaths so far after getting the vaccine, though no `direct link' has been established. But there are also stories of many nurses and health care workers in Sweden who got ill from the shot - like here, they are the ones that got vaccinated first.
As I understand it, there have only been 2 deaths in Sweden attributed to the H1N1 flu, yet as many as 6 deaths may be linked to the vaccine. Not good. We won't know about any long-term effects for many months.
So, perhaps people who get the vaccine in the USA will fare far better than those folks in other countries. (Though there's still the issue of higher-than-normal mercury in the H1N1 shot.) Time will tell, I guess.

Daughter had it 2 weeks ago. She was really tired about 3 days later, but nothing unusual in her Lyme symptoms.
