Is there any reason to avoid tomato acid?

I think there was a post about V8 some time ago, but I don't remember if it was specifically about V8 or not.

To try to answer your question, I think in theory V8 is good for you, but it is surprisingly high in sodium, which isn't a good thing.

They have low sodium V-8 juice. You can buy natural tomato or vegetable juice in your health food store without all the chemicals and preservatives.

For me, V-8 juice, or things like tomato sauce, etc, are too acidic for my stomach. I have stomach issues so I can't drink V-8 juice.

Does it contain even a trace of MSG? You can search on Google for all the terms used for MSG.

What about preservatives or additives? Those are best avoided.

Also, it is best to buy anything you consume in glass jar or bottle so as to avoid the plastics and metals. You might also consider other brands of tomato juice. Organic would be best.

If you have a Trader Joe's near you, they have good juices, especially their Organic Pomegranate. Their prices are pretty good, too.

Sounds like the acid isn't an issue then.

No Trader Joe's. The only thing I have is WalMart, GNC, & Lowe's without driving 35 miles to the next town. No Trader Joe's there either.

I know that some cancer patients are told not to eat tomatoes because it will make you your PH off balance ..?

I tend to stay way from them for that reason and blend my own veggies drinks using greens and carrots and such and I do not use tomatoes.

II used to have excema so horrbily bad and when i ate anything with tomato in it or on it I instanly had a flare . IT was so painful.

I am sure everyone is different. I also opt out of prepared or premade or bottled and preserved anything. I have heard they do not really have to list every last thing and there can be more than meets the eye in there..
