My mother is very sick and had a tick attached to her ear for a week near the end of January. She developed an extremely stiff neck at that time and it has never gone away completely. It gets better and worse.

She has seen her primary doctor, infectious disease doctor, and arthritis doctor. They did some test for Lyme disease but nothing positive was revealed. She has progressively gotten worse.

Because her doctors told her she did not have Lyme, she has not considered seeing a LLMD. However, she is so sick now and there is no diagnosis, I have finally convinced her to see a LLMD and I received the name of one from the kind folks on this website.

She lives in Pensacola and I live in Tampa. She is too sick at this time to travel to Tampa, so she was hoping to see a doctor in Mobile which is only about an hour away from Pensacola.

She and I called a number of times last week and left messages. We have never been able to speak with anyone about making an appointment. I called again today and left another desperate message.

She is at home and near the point of going to the emergency room. Does anyone know how to successfully reach Dr. M or any other doctor in that area? Pensacola is near Alabama and Mississippi.

If you have any other advice for me, please let me know. She is currently in excruciating pain. Please help me to help her! I was so happy when she finally agreed to see a LLMD, but now I can't get a LLMD to see her.
Thank you very much!

Edited out doctor's name

See my reply in Seeking. It's important to edit out the dr's name.

Hope you got my PM!

I hope someone can help you more than I did! [Smile]

NO one has any other ideas??? Any nearby LLMD's??

I gave her the names of the drs in La and MO.

I'd be willing to bet that Dr M's office will be closed until this storm passes.

what about starting on an herbal or that salt c until she can get in to see a doctor.

it may be awhile and who knows, she may not like him.

this at least might start to help a little.

Maybe her primary doc would be willing to try giving her 30 days of doxy since he has been unable to help her. It might help.

Also, have you called lyme support groups near her (see left side of every LymeNet page)?

They may know of a doc who will give her some meds and doesn't have a long waiting list to get in to see him.

Most good lyme docs are going to take time to get in to see.

We often have to go to someone "low on the totem pole" at first while we wait the 2-4 months it takes to get in with a good lyme doc.
