How come this isn't more popular?

With all the research on what oxygen can do for the brain and how it can kill bacteria...

How come you don't hear more about this?

Expensive? To holistic?

I would love if for Christmas Santa had me a brand new home HBO chamber : )

Its bloody expensive. 1 HBO sessions is $150, you have to get at least 20 ( or better 40) to get the proper effect. I am not ready to spend $3G/month and thats not even taking logistics of it into account ( with full time job and no car it is pretty hard to get to single nearby HBO center which is in suburbs without public transportation)

Personally I'd love to, but like many other things (such as IV in general an tigecycline in particular)its too expensive. Have to stick to cheaper stuff :/

Maybe I will try it once I get whole abx stack rolling

Don't write your Chistmas list yet [Smile] The home HBO chambers can't get you to a deep enough dive, It has to one that gets to 2.4. Most of those are in a hospital setting, and they won't let you use them. So they sit empty or waiting for a wound patient or a "medicare" approved reason to use it.

Autism and Lyme are not on their lists. We have offered to pay the hospital price and they still won't let us. The closest to our home is 3 hours away, and right now we can't do the logisitcs.

The doctor did tell me that after 10 dives, one should have an idea if it is going to help. So if you can get some done for $150 a dive, that is an idea to try before committing to 20 or 30.

Hope this helps.

Good lord.

I always get excited about something. and it inevitably gets shot down. (not your fault connieagg. I appreciate the info)

It's jut so discouraging. I'm willing to do WHATEVER it takes. But it sounds like there isn't anything.

:/

While doing aggressive abx, I did many? dives in 2000.

When I left, I thought I had seen no improvement. Months later, I realized things were different, for the good.

While I was there, I saw miracles for autism and stroke patients.

I believe HBOT heals the brain.

grandmother, I think so too.

So investing in a home HBO chamber is a bad idea/waste of money

Check around for HBOT centers in your area....there are more opening up all the time.

I have wondered this too about why we don't hear more....probably expense. But still, you would think we would hear more.

The one near me charges $250 per dive "and that's the discounted rate"!

Home/mild chambers do not work for Lyme disease. That is a huge waste of $$!!

You need a monoplace chamber that will treat you at 2.4 ATA.

Any place charging over $150 for a 2.4 ATA Dive is a mono chamber is ripping you off!!!

Multiplace chambers don't work as well because you lose oxygen in the mask with air leaks and it is not absorbed through the skin.

Here is some info.

In Sarasota, Fl...there are 2 places that have mono chambers (for one).

They both charge $100 per dive. 40 + dives = total -> $4,000.00 (+).

The dives are not covered by insurance except if used to treat the "bends" or for gangrene.

Many hospitals near the ocean have HBO units because of scuba diving accidents (divers come up too fast and get the "bends").

At an absolute minimum, it appears 40+ dives are necessary...spaced out...but a routine. Stick with the program sort of thing.

Doing 10 dives once...another round of 10 dives months later won't "cut it".

It would be like not finishing a bottle of antibiotics.

And a DOCTOR in town said along with HBO, patients should take Pycnogenol, 1mg per pound of body weight...all at once...every day.

(Me: of course as always...probiotics!)

Do I think HBO treatment may work?

Oh, yes.

Dear Friends,

A friend of mine who is a naturopathic dr. has put out an article relating to Oxygen Therapy, Inversion Therapy, and Exercise.

His initial interest in HBOT was for autistic children.

"One could use Vitamins, Cleansing & Detoxification, and other bio-chemical approaches to handle the negative effects of toxicity on the Brain, but until Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, there was no known method that could 'Turn the Brain back on.'

"In other words, the toxicity of Mercury and other heavy metals had turned off all the Brain's switches when they did their original physical damage to the Brain and the other organs of the body. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, espcially when used with coordination exercises was found to trip the Brain's switches back to the 'ON' position."

His two problems with HBOT were (and are) cost and availability.

His solution, used with success in autistic children, is this:

1) have a person take Hydrogen Peroxide (food grade--5% dilution--one tablespoon for an adult and up to one teaspoon for a child), mix it in a glass of orange juice and drink it down. Within 20 to 60 seconds, this puts a large amount of oxygen into the bloodstream.

2) using an inversion table or inversion chair (not gravity boots--too hard on the ankles), turn the person upside down for 10-60 seconds (start with a small comfortable time) so that all the blood vessels in the Brain are now under pressure from the dilation that occurs when all the blood rushes to the head.

This should be done several times a day.

While on this action, the person should be involved in an exercise program that stimulates and improves coordination.

I have tried this a couple of times myself, but haven't done it as a routine action.

However, this could be an alternative for people to try. I'm making no claims for it.

Hope this helps!

Best,

Cass A

The Food grade Peroxide and inversion table are interesting. Sounds like it could help.
Thanks Cass
