I'm going to see my LLMD later this week and I want to be prepared to discuss antibiotics for the intracellular form of Lyme.
I could not tolerate minocycline, and I am barely tolerating doxycycline. I wonder if IV doxy would be easier, since my main complaint has been extreme nausea.
Of course, I don't know if my doc will rx IV doxy.
I am currently taking IV Rocephin, oral doxy, oral Flagyl, and oral Cipro.
The Cipro means that I can't take Biaxin for intracellular, which is too bad because I did OK on Biaxin for the short time I tried it.
So...any suggestions about abx for intracellular? I want to be able to discuss intelligently with the doc on Friday.
Normally my husband would research for me, but he's laid out with what we think might be H1N1. (It's no fun in my house right now!)

rifampin, bactrim. You already taking flagyl, macrolide and fluorquinolone.
rifampin could be a ***** though at times (I mean I tolerate 600 mg doxy and can barely stand rifampin)

Yeah, Rifampin is impossible for me. I was on it last year and got the strangest side effect.
My sense of smell was heightened so severely that I could smell *everything*. I could smell my husband, freshly showered, from at least ten feet away. I could smell my own hair. It was miserable.
So no Rifampin. I was thinking Bactrim was good for intracellular, but I couldn't remember.
