For about a week, my symptoms (TMJ, back pain, air hunger) got pretty bad, then I came down with a cold.
So I wasn't really surprised that I had been feeling crappy when I was on the verge of coming down with something.
Funny thing is, in the first 3 days of this cold or URI or whatever it is, my Lyme sx have pretty much stopped.
Now that the thing is starting to let go a bit, the Lyme sx are coming back again.
Anyone else have this happen? Any ideas why?

yeah! i have a cold and my lyme-pain is almost gone! just feel VERY tired.
but its strange. i used to have no cold for years since i have lyme. now i have the third cold in one winter. does it show how weak my immune system is now? maybe because of all this abx? should i continue antibiotics while i have the cold?

I have had the same thing happen - the lyme symptoms don't seem as bad when I am sick with something else. Usually only lasts a few days.

I think the immmune system says "hey, I'm tired of fighting with these mean son of guns, I'm going to go try something easy like this simple virus."

May be because you are just more aware of the cold symptoms at that time...Whatever hurts more is going to become more apparent to you in that moment.

Because the immune system has something real to attack and goes to work on that instead of attacking the body's own tissues
For some reason the chronic lyme has trained my body to attack itself with an overactive immune system....for years allergy shots kept me in control before I knew I had Lyme, gave my overactive immune system a purpose, a focus to fight instead of fighting me.
