Was wondering if anyone has had this sx and knows what it is. For about 2 weeks I've had severe pain in my left side or spleen area. When do you know if it ruptures? It's also causing stomach pain too.
I think it's ebv back again, mono was how this started for me almost 3 years ago as I have swollen lymph nodes, scratchy throat and am sleeping my tail off again during the day.
I'm on drug holiday so am wondering if this is relapse? Or possibly bart?

is right under your ribs or below the navel area?
my pancreas pain was centered where the ribs curve in the middle.

I would go to a doctor and have it checked out. If you develop a fever, i wouldn't mess around, I'd go to ER or urgent care center right away.

no i can't take a deep breath without pain. it's right under my ribs on the left side. my gp said might be reactivated ebv. when i eat it gets even worse.
is there any harm in a pancreas that is in...distress?

Hmmm. Just throwing this out there: Have you ever had any diagnostic imaging or surgeries which would have confirmed normal organ locations? Some people are born with situs inversus and never know it. This is a congenital defect (of various degrees) where some or all the organs are on the opposite side from where they are normally located.
I am an ultrasound technician and have found this condition in a few patients who did not know of it at the time of the sonogram. (Depending on the situation--complete vs partial-- the organs can function normally).
Anyway, the thought hit me that perhaps you have situs inversus and the pain you are feeling is actually your gallbladder (since you said it is worse when you eat).
Just throwing it out there.

I had the rib pain on the left side also. CT scan showed nothing. My MD said it was probably GI related, which made sense since I had been on antibiotics for 2 months and it started while I was on Doxycycline. Sure enough, now that I have been off antibiotics for a few months, the pain is gone. Hopefully that is all it is for you as well.

Ok thank you. Will consider the organ thing in not the right location (i've never heard of that) and do some research and also could be just 17 months of high dose abx and IV doing a number on my GI tract.

I would still get it checked out b.c of the EBV!! I wouldnt take any chances. My EBV is back pretty abd and I was told to be careful with that!!!!

Yes-I agree. Get it checked out. Maybe your MD will consider a CT scan to rule out the more serious causes.

I have the same thing. It's the left side under my rib cage. I've been on Rocephin so I am hoping it's not a gall bladder thing. I know the gall bladder is on the other side. I have had it all day today and I hoping after a bowel movement I'll be better. What is EBV?
