I think I had the worst herx I ever had in 3 years. I lost all my leg strength (almost all of it) for what seemed like forever, very scary.
Strength came back today pretty good. I think it was a bad herx for some reason I caught the bugs just right or something.
I was ready to go to the ER, heart was pounding at 124 at rest too, bad tachycardia.
Has this happened to anyone? Should I be worried?

ALS ? Lida Mattman said that there is a strain of borrelia that causes als its closely related to lyme so much so that when testing pcr this als strain shows up with the borrelia burgdorferi anitigens. But dont let that worry you keep treating lyme I know at least 2 people that were treated by Dr J in Pa that were told to go home and prepair to die by John Hopkins. Well they aint dead there better just keep treating lyme and coinfections. Just thought its better to have that knowledge than not to. Hang in there and make sure you get b12 shots or at least a good sublingual b12 under the tounge. and take all your supplements they are important your body is using everything up at a excelerated rate of speed. Hi Rich, My leg strenth and leg spacticiy are huge issues for me. I spent five weeks in a wheelchair. I also have an MS dx, but also know I have Lyme and company.
I know it can be really frightening. I am out of the wheelchair; cannot stand for very long but the legs still work.
Keep on keepin' on.

for years i have had paralysis...really cannot walk-hold any weight for short periods of time. all i can do is wait...then it gets better. not related to herx. i sort of think it is nerve block or something
