I have been seeing an ART practicioner (well once). The doc recommended some hypercoagulation supplements. They are produced by a company called Thera-Zyme. First, anyone familar with this company? Any thoughts?

Now on to the bigger question. I have repeatedly tested postive on allergy skin tests to many forms of mold across the board. In fact, I believe all looked for with common allergen panels. I have no idea if I have any mold problems in my house. No blood testing has ever even been proposed by my docs, including my LLMD. [Frown]

I noticed all three supplements she prescribed - TRMA, VSCLR and KDY T10 to T11 - have a proprietary plant enzyme blend containing these:

Aspergillus Oryzae and Aspergillus Niger

Aren't these MOLDS? What the heck? I thought ART testing accurately picked up what your body rejects? Am I paranoid or would you be cocnerned? My congestion has gotten much worse since starting these. This is frustrating as I thought hypercoagulation supplements should THIN mucous, right?

Sorry, I should have mentioned one other thing. The bottles say things such as Protease from Aaspergillus Niger and Catalae from Aspergillus Oryzae. Lipase and Cellulase from Aspergilluis Niger.

Does this help?

Very good question seek. This may take some research on your part.

First, I'd stop taking the products and see if the symptoms go away. That said, it's possible that when you first start enzymes you are disolving fibrin. Fibrin can release pathogens. This can make you feel sicker. It might be hard to tell if it is the action of the enzymes or the enzymes themselves that are making you feel sick.

I'd also call both the practioner and the company that makes the enzymes and see what they say.

In looking up Aspergillus oryzaem, it looks like it secretes amalyses. I don't know if that means that you only get the secretion and none of the aspergillus. Even if that were the case, I don't know that it would make amalyse free of all aspergillus or other fungus.

In my experience with these things, the company will probably tell you if there is ANY question that it might make you sick to stop taking it. They are covering themselves.

Unless someone can explain the process they use to make the product and assure you that it is safe, I wouldn't take it. Your body has plenty to deal with already.

Muscle testing (ART or other types) are not 100% accurate. I don't use ART, I use another form of testing. I don't know how ART practioners test for safety or whether it's built into the testing. That's another question to ask your ART practioner.

Bottom line, you might be better off looking for another source of enzymes just to be safe.

Edited to add:
Do you usually get congested when exposed to mold?

those are molds for sure Seek! I don't know if they are in a different form in those remedies or not...not much help, i know.

Yes,I have heard of the company Thera-zyme [Wink] but only because my doctor recommended one of their products.

FWIW, I have the clear runny stuff too and can't breathe through my nose well at all. I use one of those Neil-Meds sinus rinse things (Walgreens) every morning and this has been helping with the drainage.

I hope that someone else has some answers for you, mine is kind of lame.....

Except for the Sinus Rinse, that is worth a try IMO.

I had to stop taking enzyme products made from aspergillus niger because I was getting a fungal infection from it. I used Nigersan from Sanum to clear it up. I can't take any of those plant enzymes because they give me fungal infections. I don't think they are a good idea if you have sensitivity or issues with fungal infections.

I agree with Feelfit. I use those Neil Meds sinus rinse things, too. They help some.

But after two sinus surgeries I still have constant problems with congestion. Guess it's just part of this wonderful game we all play. [Frown]

My husband uses the Neil Meds sinus rinse and adds GSE to the salt/water solution.
