I haven't been on this site in awhile because I've actually been doing fairly well. Having digestive problems but other than that I've been ok.

I've been having extreme air hunger with a lump in the back of my throat that makes me feel like I'm drowning.

My chest hurts like I have a bad cold and I have a slight cough.

I've been having headaches and vertigo and woke up with panic attacks last night.

I've been getting chills and am exhausted at night.

I'm not taking anything for Lyme right now but I've been taking herbs to boost my adrenals.

Under a lot of stress because hubby lost his job but I thought I was handling it all ok...

Anyone else?? Does this sound Lyme related or is something else going on?

Any suggestions? Could I be deficient in something that triggers these symptoms?

Thank you so much for any advice!!!

Some of the symptoms you desribe sound like Babesea, the air hunger, headaches, chills at night, slight cough...

Tests are terrible, but you could try getting tested for Babs. make sure you get tested for B microti and B duncanii (especially if you live on west coast for latter)

a quick test is also to look at whether you are anemic, although some poeple show mild or no anemia.

that said, lyme can cause some of these symtpoms too. I'd say its time to go back to see your LLMD

It looks like I wrote that post. I have the same symptoms right now except getting the chills.

The air hunger is driving me nutso. I also have head pains on top of it.

I didn't know if mine was a relapse. Saw my regular doc and neuro just to be sure.

I let it go too long though. Now I am paying for it.

You should give your LLMD a call. I started back on antibiotics yesterday.

I share your pain of the panic. It has been really troublesome for me the last two months.

Hi Pammy,

I sympathize with your current condition....having the same myself. I am mostly focusing on Babesia at the present time and this initiated the symptoms.

have you tested or treated for babs? I tested negative until I was tested for Babesia WA-1 also known as Babesia Duncani. This had been thought to be primarily a West Coast strain. I am not from the West Coast. Many East Coast LLMD's are testing for this strain now and coming up with many positives.

See: www.lymemd.blogspot.com for discussion on this issue.

Hang in there....these are not pleasant or easy symptoms.

Wow, sounds so much like me! This sounds like Babesia. Have you been treated at all for Babesia?

Stress is so bad and can bring out symptoms in full force. I know it's completely impossible to avoid all stress. :-(

I hope you feel better!

Well, from what it looks like, it sounds like financial stress is the trigger. However, I've been having all the same symptoms without any causative stress.

I don't know what herbs you are taking, but maybe they are over-stimulating your adrenals; it sounds like they are or may already have been on hyper-drive.

The headaches, vertigo, and chills can be anxiety driven as well.

Lyme, Bartonella, and Babesia can cause panic attacks and/or make your body overreact to stress.

If you aren't taking any antibiotics, and want to something to help your stress, I suggest kava stress relief tea by Yogi and kava pills or drops if you need more of an effect. The tea/drops work in about 10-15 minutes in my experience. I've tried every herb for stress at the health food store, and the only one that I have noticed effects comparable to anti-anxiety medications is kava. It works on the same receptor as anti-anxiety medications, but unlike anxiety meds, it's not addictive. However some data shows that it can cause stress on the liver. That's why I wouldn't take it while on antibiotics or even while taking full doses of tylenol.

Sounds like babesia to me. My three kids eventually all tested positive for both babesia duncani and babesia mircroti and we are in PA. Do you ever get night sweats? Even just once in awhile? That is a hallmark symptom but you can have babesia and not have sweats too.

Good luck to you.

You just listed all my babs symptoms to a tee! I'd bet money that that's what it is. I was on antimalarials for over a year but always relapsed after going off of them. I finally kicked it with my rife machine.

Thank you so much for all of your replys... It's still bad but I'm not as panicked by it.

If I take an anti anxiety pill it seems to help and taking an antacid like pepto seems to call it down too.

How do you know if your adrenals are over active or under active? Kday, you mentioned they could have

already been in overdrive. My LLMD said Lyme often weakens the adrenals. Are their symptoms

that could indicate where they're at??

Thanks again!

Babesia, that's the first thought I had too. God damn disease really messes you up. I've got it too, but before I ever knew I had it, I also suffered from many of those symptoms and didn't know why they weren't improving with Lyme treatment. The Malarone I'm using really helped a lot. Symptoms have subsided over time.
