I am going to be starting this soon, 1ml once a week. LLMD said this is more significant than a B12 shot. do they hurt and where do you give them?

LLMD suggest my thigh.

Do they help you?

I heard they are very painful. I never did them though. Maybe lidocaine would help?

I have had good luck with transdermal magnesium. It raised my blood level of magnesium, Dr. Shealy's brand on Amazon

I've used IM magnesium and it really helpes with things like muscle cramping, twitching, and buzzing. It doesn't hurt much at the time of injection but aches afterwards. Lidocaine might help and is compatible. I have always injected in the butt and would avoid the thigh.

IM magnesium is really good stuff and really helps with muscle tightness, twitches, stiffness and is really important for your cells.

I used 2cc in the past and yes the thigh is a good place to inject, if you don't have someone to do it for you on the backside.

B12 is equally as necessary but performs a different function. It protects and repairs nerve endings and damage. You should put both tne b12 and mag in the same syringe and inject. In fact, adding B complex to the mag and b12 would be the perfect IM shot.

Magnesium alone can sting but your doctor should prescribe lidocane or compounded procaine which is better and has anti aging attributes to remove

the sting. Adding b12 without the lidocane will take some of the sting out as well, but the procaine or lidocane is the best way to do it.

merrygirl,

I use transdermal Mg also and love it! No pain, works quick and you can rinse it off in about 15 minutes!

Been giving myself them for 4 years now for maintenance after I had been given several IV's. I do 2cc mag and 1cc 2% lidocaine. I'm not a medical professional - I had had numerous injections done and then my sister an LLP supervised my first several shots.

Now it's cake and I only do every other week instead of weekly. If I push it past 2 weeks, I'll typically end up with a muscle spazm on the back of my skull (usually first feel these as either a headache in the eye or jaw pain).

If you draw the lidocaine last, it helps numb you up. I do it in the hip and never have trouble. No soreness (mostly) afterward.

The thigh kills me.

I infused mag and also injected it. It is about as painful as a bicillin shot, but well worth it.
