Done adding posts on alt care + natural healing.

Feel like I am wasting my time + yours. [bonk]

We all feel that way from time to time... Sometimes you just need a break from Lymenet. These illnesses associated with Lyme are really frustrating.

Some of the people here can be hardheaded but some do get the messages. It is possible we can help each other. You may not know if someone reads your post & gets some info or a new direction to try.

Everyone's experience is valid. There are no "experts" here... Just all of us trying to get well.

What brought this on? I'm sorry to hear this.

Don't tell me the feds are cracking on you too.

I read a news headline somewhere they were

shutting down alternative web sites who have methods of flu

treatments, etc who recommend alternatives.

Ludicrous if you ask me. But no one is, so what

they are really saying is line up and drop your

drawers, we don't want you to be able to help

yourselves and should not have a mind to make up.

Pinelady,

I agree. They don't make money off of the alternative treatments either.

I'm sorry to hear this too. I found your posts helpful.

I'm very interested and many others are too. I read many of your posts, even if I don't reply.

I wish people would not bash what others believe is right for them, and for sharing their successes with the group, but some people just do. There are all kinds of people, here and everywhere.

There is definitely an interest and a need for a variety of approaches, and no one right way that's good for everyone.

I hope you'll reconsider.

Massman, I do think you have a lot to offer.

I am surprised you would consider leaving, because I haven't seen people bash your ideas. I have seen people disagree, but I don't think that is a reason to leave.

Not everyone is going to agree, but it doesn't mean that people with differing viewpoints should leave. Unless of course you feel it isn't worth it for you anymore.

Hi - surprised to read this. You know, many of us read but we may not always comment. I've found your medical posts very informative. And you're a medically trained person as well.

We're all not going to be able to agree about everything. People need to be able to post info here. It can help others.

Posted by Robin123 (Member # 9197) on :

Hoosiers and I posted at the same time. Do I hear an echo in the house, or rather, on the board? - lol.

Posted by sapphire101 (Member # 6638) on :

Please don't leave. You have a lot to offer and we need you here. I always read your posts but I don't comment alot here. Trying to do better though.

If on the other hand, you just need a break then go for it. I took a break myself and haven't been back long.

I found myself consumed by this monster of an illness. It did help me so if that's what you need then do it but come back.

Massman -- a lot of people read your posts, most people on this board don't post. You don't realize that until you meet people at support group meetings just how many do read and don't post. And how much an affect you do have on folks.

I remember the first person I had met like this had one of those sleep number beds. From a post here, she discovered she had mold in her bed as well. Imagine just a small kernel of information could possibly transform someone's life so dramatically. The post was from six of all people.

Communication and what happens to it is more like messages in a bottle for desperate people searching. You can only hope something you might say might help someone in positive ways. Sometimes gratification of the effort comes in mysterious and unexpected ways, just persevere a bit more.

Maybe others have examples of this, maybe some of these might inspire you to continue!

Good luck in whatever your choice

Massman,

I have always found your posts interesting and helpful and do read them. I don't post much b/c of my brain fog.

Please reconsider or maybe just a break is needed?

Dear Massman,

I am fairly new here (less than a year) but have found all the info I gather from "all of you" a life saver!!! If you need to leave for physical. etc. reasons, then we will truly miss you but if for some other reason PLEASE reconsider.

God Bless You and I hope you have a Merry

Christmas!

With sincere thanks,
Karen

P.S. Often people on here do not even have a LLMD -thank the Lord I do, and he is great but I only see him every other month and as to not want to continually bother him we turned to people like you for advice.

Granted everyone has different opinions but actaully that can be a good thing, this disease affects each of us so differently that by us getting different viewpoint we (as adults) can and should weight all the ideas presented and figure out which is the best for us.

Also, I have noticed that if by chance someone post something that is "way off" or dangerous others are usually quick to respond.

Is this because of the discussion on the hysterectomy thread?

I feel that alternative care and natural healing has helped me more than antibiotics have. [group hug]

PLEASE continue to share your knowledge with us.

Please don't let a few close-minded people chase you away.

Massman, I read your posts. They help me. Please keep posting. None of us are loved ALL the time.

massman,

I have been posting about the co-infections of parasites and worms ad nauseum. I have also suggested alternatives such as salt/c and got really bashed for that at times.

However, when I saw that eventually there were people listenening and taken positive steps to rid themselves of this co-infection, I realized that it was not in vein.

I understood that some of the bashing was not directed at me but at the fear of either the protocols I suggested and or the fact that some people were embarrased by the fact they had parasites.

There were times I felt that I didn't want to continue posting this info, but decided that even if a few could benefit from the info it was worth it.

Even if you decide not to stay, what you have posted will be in the archives and people will benefit from it if they should choose.

Hope you continue on with your valuable insights and allow people to make their own choices as to whether they want to apply it or not,

Gael

Massman,

You have helped me a lot. I hope you change your mind. I understand about wanting to take a break. Please know that that you are needed on Lymenet. In fact I believe I found a doctor because of you.

Posted by randibear (Member # 11290) on :

i am so sorry you feel this way. i've seen many posts but always tend to read about the alternative methods.

so many of us are tired of antibiotics and their side effects and a lot of us quite frankly don't understand some of the other web sites. they're just too complicated to understand.

at least here people post in language that many of us CAN understand and yours is one of them.

if we cannot learn from each other here, a lot of us have no place else to go.

so please stay. maybe just take a holiday break.

you may not think you're needed but ya are...

Massman, please don't go.... at least not forever.

One of the things I appreciate about your posts is that you challenge many of the `health myths' that exist today, such as what we THINK we know about cholesterol, red meat, the dangers of fat, most vitamins and supplements, etc.

Please don't assume people aren't paying attention because they don't comment or because they don't act on information immediately. It takes time from some of these seeds of truth to germinate and take root, and in many cases, the information has to appear at the right time for the person(s) seeking information.

And, frankly, in the long run I think it only makes good sense when most people take time to think and do some research before commenting or acting on new information.

I'm going to be taking another break from LymeNet, too, and for similar reasons. We all do it but we don't give up sharing information that we believe might be helpful to someone, at some point.

Many thanks for all you've shared with us, so far, and I hope there's more to come in the future!
[Smile]

Massman, I hope you are reading these responses. Are you there?

Your posts have helped us a lot. It's so hard to find our way through the tangle of possible treatments, and we are turning out to be another family with better response to alternative methods than to antibiotics.

To give just one of many examples, your comments about NRT and ART led us to a GREAT practitioner who we trust, and find very helpful. If I didn't manage to thank you at the time, let me thank you now. We hope you keep up the good work!

i actually just posted here recently looking for herbal tx, which i have found hard to figure out, and i got some responses, tho i've been too sick to put them into action.

i'm also on a ton of abx. some of us mix and match to try to have complimentary tx. diff things work for diff people.

here's a story about what posting on LN can do:

i was not a member of LN. I was bitten by a tick, got sick, dx w/Lyme tho blood tests were negative. after several months, i got much worse:

couldn't stand, speak, feed/wash/dress myself, etc. in bed fulltime. migraines/nausea/sensory stimulation, horrible pain.

my docs, even 2 LLMDs, said, "This can't be Lyme. You had Lyme, but I don't know what this is."

I stopped getting any tx. my friends thought i was dying.

a friend w/Lyme kept sending me posts from LN about people w/sx like me. the obscure things the docs couldn't understand, like why i couldn't talk.

someone posted about their doc finding "a babesia rash" on the back of their neck. i have had a rash on the back of my neck since i was bitten, almost 3 years ago.

so, i finally went through ONE more round of testing (i'd had 2 igenix tests before, this was my third), and positive for Lyme and babs!

if it weren't for my friend reading LN and sending me links and sometimes printouts of the posts, i would probly be dead. i had given up believing i had lyme anymore either, because i'd been told it so often.

so, even if people don't always post thankful, agreeing posts in response to what someone says here, that doesn't mean it wasn't worth saying.

after all, i was worth saving.

-sharon -- alive in mass., too

Massman

I have always valued your posts and information.

Your one of the obvious people whom has great information and ideas and suggestions and resources.

it is very valued by me and many others here.

You may not realize how much we listen and how much we do even take your advice and try suggestions you give..

Maybe there is not a lot of typing that shows you that this is happening..

I just made a comment to someone about how I think you are so very insightful and have such a great perspective on so many things with so much to offer.

I always keep my eye out for your posts...

Please keep them coming...

Massman,

Please think about your decision again. If you only help but one person you know your effort is not wasted.

Everyone thinks differently but that does not mean that no one is learning and benefiting from your posts, as evidenced by the many posts here.

Come back......... [bow]
