Okay, LLMD started me on Doxy back in March when I was first dx'ed with Lyme and Ehrlichia.

Really had no herxing at all, although after a few months many of my sx went away at least mostly.

Switched from Doxy to Amoxyl in August or September, can't remember which now. I did have horrible herxing with Amoxyl, but then it went away. Sx came back, though, so it didn't seem to work well for me.

LLMD switched me back to Doxy the middle of November.

About 2-3 weeks after I started back on the Doxy, I got horrible pressure in my neck/head. Even felt it in my ears, just didn't feel right at all.

Went off the Doxy for a day or so and it all resolved.

Went back on the Doxy, and now again, 2 weeks after starting the Doxy, I have the same weird head pressure. That's what's making me think "herx."

It comes and goes, and it isn't really severe, just annoying. I haven't taken the Doxy since yesterday AM, just to see if the same thing happens.

So, if it is a herx, I'm just wondering why I didn't herx on Doxy the first time, but this time I am having such a hard time with it.

Hi Starfall,

When I first started treatment in 2005 I never herxed at all...not on one single abx.

I have recently relapsed and I think I am herxing like mad.

Mine is mostly head pain and emotional issues.

There is no standard to herxing. Just like there is no standard to lyme.

Be well, kit

Thanks kit.

Another thing I've noticed as I go t hrough the day is that the pain/pressure seems to be worse when I sit/lie down, but when I'm up moving around it's not as bad.

Weird.

Yep-my symptoms were similar, and the more time I spent up doing something, especially outside, the better it got. Worse when I first got up in the AM and at night when I sat down. A Neurologist told me that that is typical of neuropathic symptoms. Too bizarre. But a good thing since I had to be out in my barn twice a day no matter what!

Mine got intense though, to the point of pain, for the first few months.
