Haha, that's really funny. But I'd like to hear about cookbooks too- I'm not so good at cooking unless I have a recipe, and I've started living on spinach salad, which gets pretty boring fast!

Not sure about cookbooks, but here is one recipe that I make all the time. You can probably substitute quinoa for the couscous if you prefer. And if you're being really dairy conscious, leave out the Feta, but I never do.
Couscous Salad Ingredients: 1 box couscous, cooked 1 can chick peas 1 red pepper finely chopped 1/2 Vidalia onion chopped 1 English cucumber peeled and seeded, finely chopped 1 chopped tomato 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped Juice of 2-3 limes 1/4 cup olive oil 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese Salt and freshly ground pepper
Directions In a bowl, add all ingredients. Toss and add oil or lime juice to taste.

I'd recommend making fermented foods so you get bonus probiotics and enzymes. Things like sauerkraut, kefir, pickled beets, yogurt, chutneys. Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon covers some of that. You can find a lot online too. I've gotten to where i'll try to pickle about anything. Some of it is an acquired taste though. Kefir was tough for me to handle at first but I grate up some citrus rind in it and it's decent that way.
