I am not tolerating metronizadole and flagyl -
I am allergic to it.

But this medicine is working wonders for me.
My doctor said there is no substitute which can
treat protozoa.
I also rife but this is not enough.
I will try oregano drops.

Is there anything else for protozoa treatment in abx or herbs or homeopathy?

Protozoa as in babesia, or what???

Flagyl is not for babesia. (tindamax would be a substitute)

Most LLMD's use mepron/zith, clindamycin/quinine, malarone, Lariam, .... others... sorry, my brain is now empty! (there are more)

Lymetoo,

I took it for the Fry protozoa and I did so much better but I was already allergic before.

I will try malarone. I am not diagnosed with babesia.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Alinia?

It's an anti-protozoal ( I think) and there's some thought that it MIGHT work on Lyme cysts.

I think that some doctors believe it works on lyme cysts because it is used against cystic forms of treatment-resistant giardia- I don't know whether that's the only reason, though.

It's not related to metronidazole, I don't think (again, I might be wrong).

It's very, very expensive in the US, though, where the generic isn't available yet.

I bought some generic alinia overseas from India, and I think I got it from this online pharmacy that I found through Pharmacychecker.com:

http://www.onlinepharmaciescanada.com/pricedetail.aspx?DrugName=%22Alinia%22#

I've gotten it a couple of times already from overseas and I'm pretty sure it was part of what put babesia into remission for a while. I seem to be having a babesia flare again after many months, and will be getting back on Alinia.

sorry about your reaction to flagyl. for me too I responded well to flagyl for the fry bug protozoan.

I still want to take more of it but my doctor has not wanted to give me anymore of it for fear of C diff etc.

I do have some oral flagyl I was trying but it is not near the same for me .. but I do pulse it in a couple days a week.

I think Flagyl along with biofilm busters is a great combo for Fry bug.

Rife is not helping? What frequencies have you been using for it? Maybe there are some you have not hit yet? Have you tried to use biofilm busters the hour prior to rife? Just an idea?

Tinidazole - fasigyn

Tindazole (Tindamax)

Albendazole (Albenza)

Both of those should be pretty similar to Flagyl. I know that Albenza is supposed to go after micro-filaril worms that ticks carry. (yup, the worms really are in ticks..it's been documented)

I know with Flagyl (and maybe Tindamax? but I don't think Albenza, check on that one) you are not supposed to consume ANY alcohol at all...even in cooking, or herbal tinctures. So if you consumed alcohol, that could be why you didn't tolerate it. Just checkin'.

Karen,
what was the allergic reaction you had to flagyl?

I was on tindamax and did ok the first time around but the second was awful. My doctor said to stop it as he thought it was an allergic reaction.

tindamax might work for you as it's the same concept as flagyl and apparently not as tough.

Janice,
I was already allergic to Flagyl when I got it together with Cipro - long time ago.

Now I tolerated it for 6 days ( 250 mg twice a day)and then got pain in the bones, pretty bad.
Also my throat was a little narrow and I did not feel well.

My doc wanted to stop before it gets worse. I was able to do two more days with only 250 mg a day.

I feel so great on flagyl. The only thing what helped in years. I even wonder if I have that complicated Fry protozoan when I am doing well with some flagyl.
But it also helps for anaerobic bacteria.

No, I did not take any alcohol. But good that you remind me of the herbal tinctures.

My practitioner told me when you are allergic never take anything else together with the bad medicine because your body will then get allergic to the good one too. I think the body is then on alert and I take nothing on these days.

Springshowers,

where can I get the

biofilm busters?

On 26th my Fry tests will be back, I did a lot of tests.
I hope he will give my doctor a treatment list or some advice.

I rifed the malaria frequ.and only minutes and only one week. The buzzing in the legs got better with rifing, so this also helped after 4 days.

But I will also rife your protozoan frequ..
and the toxo and tularemia.

Flagyl was like a miracle, I felt like 16 again.
As if nothing had happened in all these horrible years where I was housebound and thought I will be dying any minute.

This week I hope my homeopathic antibiotics will arrive. I will inform you if it works.

Hope you are doing better and stay off IVs.

Karen
