Hello:

For the last several weeks my distance vision and night vision has become scarily blurry - this trait comes and goes. BTW, I only have vision in one eye but this 'singular' vision has been with me my whole life, so that's a non-issue.

Up until now I have only had neuropathic sensory symptoms and insomnia.

Underwent first and only Lyme tx for 6-8 weeks in 2008 based on equivocal Lyme results. Didn't respond and stopped and have questioned my Lyme dx ever since.

Does anyone else have light sensitivity or blurred vision with oncoming headlights while driving? While shopping in a grocery store, everything is severely blurry beyond about 20 feet. Again, this comes and goes.

Close-up vision is NEVER affected, what could that mean? I am 40 years old.

Should I see a regular eye doctor or is a 'neuro-opthomologist' necessary?

Does Lyme or co-infections do this?

The burning/tingling skin has been a nightmare for over 3 years [Frown] wasn't expecting this new problem.

Have considered re-testing as my non-positive results had MANY bands showing an immune response.

A kind thanks for any help,

MBB3

Been to eye drs. in the past. Wasted money on glasses.

one day my eyes are ok next day they may not be.

The stength of my glasses are too weak and other days too

strong.

Im sure you will get some replys about seeing a LLMD.

I would check into it.Im to new to guide you, but

there are alot of wonderful people here that will

respond soon. wish you well.

While shopping? This could mean you are reacting to mold which is very often in stores.

It happens to me in stores with moldy air, then I get blurred vision. It is better in other stores. Watch if it is different in different places and worse where there is a lot of paper stuff. I cannot shop at office max.

Could also be from toxins in the air like pesticides sprayed to trim the lawn.

But also lyme coinfections can cause it. There are some posts with eye pain here.

I had exactly what you describe - intermittent blurry distance vision in my right eye.

I have Lyme, Bartonella and Babesia.

After the second episode I went to my optometrist who referred me to an opthamologst. Neither found anything even remotely wrong with my eye.

I know Lyme can cause vision issues, alot of trouble with optic neuritis and retinal issues.

It might be wise to get your eyes checked just to make sure - you can actually damage your vision permanently if you let something like that go on unchecked and there is truly something wrong.

Since making some headway in my Lyme and co treatment I have not had any more blurry vision. But, am not holding my breath that it won't return - my symptoms seem to cycle.

Hope you get some answers.

I have this as well....In my humble opinion, I think it's related to inflammation....Are you using any anti-inflammatories?????I think they are a MUST.....

I have the blurriness on and off as well....and I did have pretty severe pain behind my left eye during the worst of my disease (had both Lyme and RMSF). Just went to an eye doctor yesterday, and was told that I have asymmetry of my optic nerves, the left eye being the abnormal one. She said I could have had optic neuritis, but that there was currently no inflammation. We don't know if the visual deterioration is from that, or my age-but it is pretty significant since my last visit 3 years ago.

Inflammation of sensory nerve cells is a huge part of this dumb disease....even after the infection is calmed down, the inflammation can continue. For several months, I am told.
