I think I will need to stop abx to treat yeast. I have been on abx for the past 7 months, but started rifampin and ceftin combo only 2 weeks ago.

I stopped abx briefly in Dec. and mild flu-like symptoms came back at the end of two weeks, so I went back on them. The only symptoms I have left are neuropathy and sore heels. I really don't know if I have bart or not. When I started rifampin, I did have mild aches for a couple of days.

I read when stopping abx, flu-like symptoms could be caused by your immune system kicking back in. Is this true?

jen,

at my own request, i was on rifampin for 4-6 weeks at the end of my treatment for sore heels too. all my tests for bart came up negative, but the treatment seemed to work for those symptoms.

i actually transitioned from ABX to an herb, Allergy Research Group, (TOA) Prima Una de Gato, since my lyme symptoms were pretty much gone at the time.

i really didnt think it was healthy to stay on abx for prolonged periods when i had very few symptoms.

I have been in remissions for just about a year, and i still take 1 capsule (375mg) per day as well as alot of good vitamin supplements.

**fingers crossed**

good luck with it.

gemofnj,

I am so glad to hear you have been in remission for nearly a year. That is wonderful news!

Thank you so much for wishing me luck.

Jen try eating a tablespoon of coconut oil.

It has stopped mine when I thought I was in real bad trouble.

I started coconut oil Wednesday and have not noticed a difference yet. I am eating 3 tbsp. per day.

Does coconut oil need to be eaten on an empty stomach? Does it need to be spaced out from vitamins?

Never got an ounce of help from at least one year of ingesting coconut oil.

What are you doing for the yeast?

Olive Leaf Extract was a miracle for me. Totally prevented candida from starting in the first place. Other times in the past, Diflucan was needed but not when I later learned and used OLE.

If you use Diflucan, be sure your liver support is in place but Diflucan can be a strong helper against systemic yeast.

While probiotics are essential, they were never enough for me. I wanted to avoid Diflucan, though, long term so daily OLE was the key for me. Allicin, too, can be very helpful alongside abx tx to prevent candida or to address it.

Allicin (freeze dried garlic) has really helped me with yeast. I just bought some OLE, but have not yet taken it.

I take 4 Nystatin a day. I found some relief from one tablespoon of CCoil. I also take 1000 E. I could tell a difference in 8 hrs. So it may not work for you.

Did you use liquid olive leaf extract or pills? What dosage is recommended and how many times a day? Anything is worth a try at this point.

Also, is OLE taken at different time than abx or vitamins?

Thank you!
