How would I know if I had a yeast problem?

What type of bodily changes should I be on a look out for?

White or yellow on the tongue, especially look when you first wake up before eating or drinking. (There are pictures on the Internet of this.)

The yeast usually starts on the tongue. Then, with every swallow, you send it down into the stomach. Then, it goes throughout the intestines.

Bloating and abdominal pain or tenderness were other symptoms for me. The bloating could get really bad where it was hard to find any clothes to wear.

My tongue was white this morning! Does this mean I have yeast infection? What should I do?

Read what Burrascano says starting on page 34. You may need a prescription from your doc to get rid of it (diflucan).

http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

But, if you don't take steps to prevent another episode, you will just get it again. Besides the restricted diet, I was told to drink kefir every day and take lots of refrigerated probiotics. These are bought in a health food store--the kind that has organic food. The best probiotics are in a refrigerator and they are expensive. You take them a few times per day.

Obeying the diet is extremely important to prevent another outbreak. The diet cannot get rid of yeast once you get it, however.

Are you on any preventatives like Nystatin while on abx?? You can also use natural things like olive leaf extract or oil of oregano.

Get on the diet, ASAP!

Candida Diet and Elimination:

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/021412.html

OH...signals you have a problem:

itching .. even scalp itching can indicate yeast
bloating
diarrhea
headache
congestion
body aches, swelling of joints

Google "candida" for more

The the link for Candida Diet and Elimination says no milk, no cereal, but I eat organic whole wheat cereal with whole milk when I take the Mepron.

Should I stop doing that is that causing the yeast?

Otherwise I follow a carb free organic diet and take probiotics, drink kefir, etc all day long.

been,

sometimes it can also be burning on the tongue or itching and burning in the 'lower parts.

you can also do the spit test. http://www.thewolfeclinic.com/pdf/Spit_Test.pdf

besides taking antifungals, are you taking refrigerated live probiotics several times a day? Megaflora by Megafoods and Renew Life Ultimate Flora are some good brands found in your local health food store.

you can also search the word 'yeast' at the top and you will find lots of good info and what has worked for others.

good luck.

I recently saw a new LLMD. He asked me if I had just put lotion on my skin because it was oily. I said no. He said I think you have systemic yeast. He was right. I didn't have all of the symptoms that people usually have.

So, oily skin can be a sign.

been,

I would avoid milk like the plague.

Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :

Yeah, for right now, avoid milk/dairy ! Cereal is just not a good idea if you are on abx.

Dairy carries its own set of problems and involves more than causing yeast to grow.

Why avoid milk? What are the problems with milk?

Posted by MariaA (Member # 9128) on :

lactose in milk may feed candida, and a lot of people have various sensitivities to milk when they have digestive-system problems (which candida usually is- it tends to be in the gut)

Phlegm in the morning, constant hunger, and belching are symtoms of yeast for myself.

Yes, the phlegm! Inside the gut and in your throat.

Google "negative aspects of dairy" .. you'll get tons of info

Did anyone get a weird taste in the mouth or a burning sensation/smell in their nose from yeast?

Posted by canefan17 (Member # 22149) on :

been,

Casein suppresses the immune system.

Milk just all the way around is no bueno.

Thanks all! I'm about to take my morning abx. What should I take the Mepron with?

What would be a good fatty food since cereal and milk are no good?

I used to put almond butter or peanut butter on a piece of celery....

stay away from complex carbs, sugar, dairy and starches. i've been on this diet for 6 months. It's do-able

Eggs are good, you can boil them the night before, pop them in the fridge and they'll be ready in the morning.
