If one were to take strong treatment for lyme and co-infections for a while, and if they were to continue to keep going downhill as treatment continued. Would that be a sign of not detoxing or something else?

I would say generally not detoxing well.

Could be that your body can't keep up with the die off or it could be something else. This is where a good LLMD is very helpful.

Sometimes when hitting one infection, another one will go crazy or at least that's what I've noticed. My doc will sometimes give me meds to hold one infection at bay while he treats another one. I think this is one reason why many LLMD's treat more than one infection at a time.

I've had flares from viruses and parasites while treating lyme. Also a tug of war between bart and babs. ugh

Side effects from the drugs can make you feel sick. Have you had regular blood work for liver enzymes etc..?

Also, treatment seems to put stress on various body systems such as thyroid, digestion, blood sugars can become problematic, adrenals etc. etc.. Evaluation and support is important while in treatment.

Candida and C-diff are both risks with abx treatment.

Also, when killing bugs, heavy metals are released. Keeping a heavy metal binder on board is very helpful.

That's all I can think of at the moment but I've probably missed some things. Hopefully others will come by and add to the list.

Terry
