I am currently on my first round of IV antibiotics. I'm concerned about cysts and biofilms preventing them from working. Any suggestions on what else I should be doing (essential oils, etc)?

Thank you!

I haven't posted in a while, but I'm still here and still read the list.

There is always the very good chance that some of the Lyme bacteria is already in cystic form- and that your treatment ( depending on the abx) will drive some into the cystic form.

There aren't any substances I know of (and I've done a heap of research) that will prohibit the bacterial from morphing when it's environment becomes hostile.

There's a lot of variables that will determine when the bacteria becomes cystic, such as, how long you've had Lyme untreated, status of your own immune system (i.e. whether you're making antibodies against Lyme or not), where the bacteria resides ( i.e. brain, or muscle tissue- or organs) and whether the abx being used can penetrate tissues ( and to what degree - including the blood brain barrier).

You don't mention what antibiotic your on. Some combo's can damage a cyst, others can't.

Best regards,
Barb

Hi,

I am taking Rocephin.

Should I be taking anything concurrent with this?

Just my own info--
I did IV Rocephin alone via an ID doc and really regret it. It helped, but I relapsed right after. Unfortunately, I did not know about LLMD's at the time. I would, personally, highly recommend that you consider combination treatment, like adding a cyst-buster (oral) and a macrolide (oral or IV). I'm not a medical professional, but I strongly believe in combo therapy from my own experiences.
