ekg normal. but am having stress test tomorrow. he wanted this done before i leave on saturday.
cholesterol total 267 hdl 60 ldl 178
so he put me on zocor. have to check back in two months.
sinus rythm is abnormal high (what in the world is this?)
carbon diozide 20 L (i asked about this and he said not to worry. normal is 21-33)
red blood cell count 5.28 marked as High (normal is 3.8 to 5.1) he said not to worry hemoglobin is 15.9 (normal ll.7-15.5) he said not to worry hematocrit 47 (normal 35-45) he said not to worry.
glucose 97
he said he was more concerned about me waking up with a heart rate of 118 from sleep and my bp changing so much.
i've had three episodes of waking up with left arm pain, dizziness, nauseous, excruciating headache and then bloodshot eyes the next day.
with my family history (all died before 70, some in their 50's with heart attacks).
he said everything was basically good except he wanted to check out that heart.
i'll be in mexico a couple of weeks and don't want to have any problems.
but to me if some of these are high, it should be mean something, shouldn't it?
sinus?? what's a sinus rhythm?? i mentioned that i haven't been able to breathe out of my nose for at least six months, have sinus headaches practically every day and he just said oh it's allergies.
i think it's enlarged turbinates but i didn't say so.
can anybody help?

sinus rhythm has to do with your heart Randi. Essentially it is a fast HR. Normal HR or sinus rhythm is between 60-80 bpm.
yours must fall out of this range that it is considered abnormal high, say 100-120 or something like that.

No, it's not your nose... it's your heart. But I never have figured out what sinus rhythm means myself.
Each heart beat is generated by an electrical impulse that begins in a structure of the heart called the sinoatrial node (also known as the sinus node). So when your EKG says that you are in a normal sinus rhythm (NSR) it means that each heart beat is being generated from the correct part in your heart and is within a normal range (60-100 beats per minute). A sinus tachycardia means each beat is being generated from the correct part in your heart but is beating faster than normal (greater than 100 beats per minute).
The slight elevation of your red bllod cell count, hemoglobin, and hematocrit are nothing to worry about. They are so close to normal your should not worry about it.
