My husband woke up this morning with severe neck/spine pain. He's been on Zithromax and Mepron for two months. Last night he started sweating which usually does not happen. His spine hurts right behind his throat when he swallows. It hurts to look up. He's been feeling pretty crappy since he started this treatment but today is worse/differnt. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Could it be just a herx?

I had severe spinal pain for months: it began as soon as I started treating. After 8 months, it is much better.

I have found around here a lot of us get a neck syndrome. Any fever? Stiff neck could be a sign of

some serious stuff, so if he gets any worse don't mess around with it. Call your doc.

Sounds like the start of meningitis. Sometimes medicines can cause it. Keep an eye on him. I would take him to the doc. Has he had a fever?

He doesn't have a fever and it doesn't hurt that bad to touch his chin to his chest. I'm just wondering if this coule be an herx after a few months on treatment.

I have had severe pain in my neck (face and head as well) ever since this started.

Never had a fever associated with it.

Hate to say it's normal, but with Lyme it kinda is. Still may be a good idea to get it checked out.

I found rubbing a lemon on it helped loads. Something to try.

My symptoms are not severe, but I have had a stiff, achy neck every day since soon after the tick bite, continuously for the past 10 months even on treatment. On occasion, it's bad enough to give me a headache and/or nausea. That has been my most common and persistent symptom.

Neck pain is a common Lyme symptom, and mine hurts more during a flare or herx.

I've had severe spine/neck pain on and off since I got sick, about 24 years. I had it before antibiotics and still have it after.
