Do I need a medical doctor involved for chelation therapy or can a good biological dentist take care of everything?

Will I get really sick? I have 10 amalgams, including one root canal. I only plan on doing one area at a time though, which would be 3-4 teeth. I keep putting it off because of lyme, but I know I need to get on with it.

My dentist wouldn't remove mine unless it was recommended by a doctor and he made sure I was chelating afterwards. He even made sure I went for an IV right after the procedure. (my lyme dr. did the heavy metal chelation)

My dentist did all of mine at once - something about getting less mercury that way. I had about 12 and he sedated me and it was a non issue.

I was already pretty sick at the time - but I don't think it made me sicker. I didn't herx or get sick from the IV's but my sister did. She has more of a yeast issue than I do, though.

I think it's one of the best things I've ever done for myself.

I also need to have about 13 removed & will do what I can afford, does anyone think a regular dentist is suffiecient with proper chelating? I was given about a $5000 estimate.

My answer to that would be no. Most "regular" dentists don't even see amalgams as a problem. They will remove them if you insist but are not set up with the proper safety features.

My old "regular" dentist once drilled an amalgam out of my tooth with chunks flying everywhere. Not a good idea.

I had all mine removed at the same time by a biological dentist. They said if I was up for it is sometimes better to have it done in one sitting. You'll hear lots of different ideas about that.

Start taking chlorella (the cleanest you can find - non toxic - Biopure is all I know for sure)
long before you have fillings done. It will remove extracellular mercury and you will not feel as saturated when the work is being done.

Go only to a biological dentist using a rubber dam
and all necessary precautions. Don't be shy about asking him/her questions before you have it done!

Take care.

I'm in the same boat as you but I have over about 16-17 fillings. I have my first appt with a bio dentist in 2 weeks. My lyme doc said he can help with chelation but the dentist i am going to can do it as well. So I will have 2 opinions. Excited and nervous to finally get these out of my head!

Is IV chelation only done once after each session of removing amalgams?

Is chlorella used in addition to chelation therapy?

Can I stay on abx while getting the amalgams removed and through chelation therapy?

"Ditto" to Gigi's comments about the Biopure chlorella and insisting on a rubber dam. I will add to that cannula-delivered O2 so you're not breathing in the mercury vapors during the grinding and digging around.

Although I am always on a maintenance dose of chlorella for general detox, I start ramping it up about 2 weeks before getting an amalgam removed. I also, directly following the removal, while I'm still in the dental office if possible, smashed up a bunch of it, add a little bit of water, and swish it around in my mouth then spit it out to get any leftover mercury that may be hanging around in there from the procedure.

I have been to two bio dentists and neither say IV vita C is necessary (although I'm sure it's helpful), but they do suggest taking large amounts of oral C afterwards.

I just had 10 amalgams removed over the course of 2 months. As I moved through this process I felt SO incredibly tired and pain from my head got much worse. Basically all the neuro stuff got worse: muscle spasms, muscle weakness, fatigue, memory, joint pain. But less than one month after my last amalgam removed, I seem to be on the upswing. And yeast, which was awful before is already getting better. I tried doing IV vitamin C after removal, but oh my gosh, it seemed to really stir things up. Some people feel great after doing it. I think I just had a lot of toxins that it was affecting my body. Now I will start the slow process of removing the mercury and heavy metals from my body. Probably will not do IV chelation. Just oral DMSA and serious detox..

make sure you are not allergic to toxic metals and chemicals. Check out allergie immun Germany thread running here. All people who have done the testing are allergic to all - across the board. Don't try to move the stuff until you know. Please do yourself a favor, take the time, and read portions of the thread or the AI website I have posted for over a year.

Keep chlorella away from Vit C. Read Klinghardt publications - read the details.

In a hurry.

Take care.

"cannula-delivered O2"

not all who do the work agree - it may further uptake into brain even more...........

Sorry, but I am confused. You say make sure you are not allergic to toxic chemicals and metals. Don't try to move the stuff until you know.

Do you mean don't have the amalgams removed until you are tested?

I've been very concerned for a few years about the 9 amalgams that I had. I finally went and got the 4 on the right side done about three months ago.

I have 5 remaining ones on the left side that I'll probably remove later. I went to my regular dentist, as the nearest biodentist was about 175 miles away!!

I did ask my dentist to be extra careful. He removed them in larger chuncks instead of grinding them up into smaller bits. They tried to be extra careful with the water and suction to keep any particles from being swallowed.

And, at my request, they let me breath oxygen cupped on my nose. After those four were removed I felt worse in some ways for a few days, but better in other ways.

I did use lots of chlorella and I took some charcoal powder after the second session to bind with any swallowed mercury.

They charge around $140.00 per tooth. I think it's a good investment to have them replaced with the composite stuff.

Jennie, to help clarify ---
when Lyme people take the allergie immun test www.allergie-immun.de, about 99% find that they have a problem with the immun system recognizing and expelling the toxic metals. Most are allergic to the mercury, lead, copper, nickle and therefore are unable to detox it, until they correct the errors in their DNA. Allergie immun does that.

You can get the test without the therapy and that will tell you exactly what you need to know. Read all the info.

You can also read the Allergie Immun thread here
and get a better idea.

The first time I had a quadrant removed, I ended up having HUGE expulsions on my face for years afterward.

Then, this January, I did another quadrant, and the same thing happened, even though I did the right supplements, etc.

I think it has to not only be a good dentist who uses a rubber damn, but has to be a GREAT dentist. I am living proof.

I saw a GREAT dentist, great precautions and I still got sick. Then, I saw a biological dentist, who recommended we do it very differently. She wont' work with my without a consult with my LLMD and she will go VERY slowly.

According to energy testing/Muscle testing, the infection I got right after having my last amalgam quadrant removed (in January), was MRSA.

So, I would ALSO ask them to thoroughly clean the room (or ask what they do between patients).

No one else I know who goes there has had any trouble, but I really do think I got MRSA there, so does my LLMD.

So, cleanliness is next to Godliness.

: )

Mercury has an antibiotic affect -

This is a quote from and interview with Dr. K and Dr. P. K

"During detoxification infections will be visible, because after dropping the mercury the bacteria can once more grow in the body.

Heavy metal load induces weakened immune resistance, and so viruses, bacteria and fungi are not really rejected and are *chronically at half sleep*.

But because of the antibiotic property of mercury can not really grow. If the mercury is now excreted, then these bacteria and viruses get the chance to grow.

Result: there is no heavy metal excretion without infection, including muscle pain and headache."

Google Dr. K, mercury toxicity, mercury elimination protocol. It's all there.

Maybe your MRSA did not come from the dentists office, but was just allowed to surface.

Can lyme still be treated with abx while getting the amalgams removed and taking chlorella?

So, no IV chelation is required? Chlorella alone would detox the mercury? How many months does it take?

I did chlorella AND IV (DMPS)

My Lyme Dr. still has me on Chlorella and I chelated four years ago.

We are exposed to a lot of heavy metals so they can build up again.

IMO, it's better to go slow rather than to remove a lot at the same time. I know others who have been A-OK getting several removed at the same time. I, however, could not do that. One or two was all I could do it seems (fiscally, too ;-).

Just my centpiece. I think everyone is different.
