I have insurance but it doesn't pay much for brand names and Mepron doesn't have a generic. They pay $200 of about $1500.
Do you know where I could find an online coupon for Mepron that I could use in conjunction with my insurance. I cannot use discount prescription cards AND the insurance together.
Looking for a manufacturer's coupon. I called Glaxo Smith Kline and they didn't have any for me--I do not qualify for Bridges to Access. Maybe there's another way?

It was $192 for me after insurance. A coupon would be great if anyone knows of one, as I have to buy a new bottle in the next day or two.

Wish I had your insurance ott70!

BlueCross BlueShield. I guess I am lucky because the pharmacist told me $192 is nothing compared to what some people have to pay, even with insurance.
It also doesn't help that Mepron is still a designer drug and there is no generic form. I was told it's manufactured at such a low volume, that Glaxo was able to submit an extension on the patent, so we probably won't see any reduction in cost for a long time.

Get your doctors to write letters of medical necessity so you can get Mepron covered by your insurance.

ott70, I have BCBS. They do cover Mepron, but they'll only pay $200 for it in my case. WC, do you mean insurance will over-ride their policy with a doc's note? Because there is no alternative generic in this instance?
