I have a local vitamin store that carries a brand called Trace Minerals. I was going to pick some up tomorrow unless someone tells me that it's not a good brand to go with.

I've heard others recommend Selectrolyte, but I would like to avoid making an online purchase if I can pick it up locally.

Any thoughts?

I've still had problems with the dehydration, vein pulsing, water retention, etc..

I have used the electrolytes from Trace Minerals in Utah for many, many years.

They are the best I've found!

They have the correct balance of potassium and sodium chloride, which most don't.

These do not have added phosphorus, although the natural ingredients might contain that element. You can call the company and ask.

Best,

Cass A

Does anybody know if the homemade electolyte mixture would contain phosphorus? I believe it is made with honey, potassium chloride powder, and something else.

There is a difference between what is referred to as Trace Minerals from what is referred to as Electrolytes. They are not the same. Google helps.

The content in the different electrolyte mixtures sold by different companies is not the same, or at least not always the same. The research behind the combination is very important and that is what you need to pay attention to. Different people have different needs, and different doctors have found that to be the case and recommend accordingly.

Hi Wolf'd,

Trace Minerals is not the same as electrolytes, even though electrolytes contain a few / some minerals; not the same.

I've searched for a good electrolyte concentrate at local stores as well and haven't been able to find one. What I found was more like Gatorade; lots of sugar in it and artificial stuff.

I use Selectrolytes by Morin Labs and I order over the phone because it's half the shipping cost that Paypal adds to the order. (Morin urges people to call them too.) There was also another brand that someone posted I've been wanting to try, from World Health Mall called Minerals of Life. Don't know how much their shipping costs are though. Both contain phosphorus.

ping, just to clarify.

I read that Nutramedix produces some kind of mineral replacement called Trace Minerals.

I don't think this is the same, but maybe I'm wrong?

I did go out and purchase the Trace Minerals Research brand Power Pak, which is the company based out of Utah that Cass A is using.

It does contain minerals, and also Sodium and Potassium at 134mg/201mg, respectively.

Total Carbohydrates from the mixture are listed at 3g, or 1%* of the daily value.
