I am starting a cyst buster soon. I had been on "cell wall" drugs for awhile without any cyst busters, so that is why I insisted on trying a cyst buster.

However, something occured to me.

I have done a lot of coinfection treatment, but I can tell that the babesia and probably the bartonella are still there.

There are a few more things I'd like to try for babs and bart before stopping treatment (I'd like to stop antibiotics within the next 6-12 months because it's wearing on my body).

So anyways, I was wondering if I should try the meds I wanted to try to finish off babs and bart before doing a cyst buster?

Or do LLMD's use cyst busters before babs/bart are really under control? Just wondering if the cyst buster would be a waste of time if I still have some hurdles to overcome.

I hope that question makes sense. I'm just not sure if you are supposed to save cyst busting for the end of treatment, when all you have left is Lyme, or what.

Thank you!

I think you should use cystbusters early in treatment. Think of all the cysts you have built up already.

So .. go for it!

Thanks Lymetoo.

Is that what you did? Did you use cyst busters before and after successful babesia treatment?

Just kinda curious how other LLMD's approach the issue.

I started treatment 18 years after my initial infection. Tested positive for Bb, Bart, Babs. Treated for Lyme (wigglers and cysts) and Babs for 1 year. Mostly pulsed the cyst-poppers. (4 days on, 3 off). Big, big herxes all year.

Started treating for Lyme and Bart at start of year 2. Took a break from cyst-poppers. Yeast flared. Bummer.

Now, at start of year 3, I am treating for Lyme (wigglers and cysts) and Bart. As cyst-popper = anti-fungal, I'm no longer pulsing for cysts. Going full steam ahead. Like you, I'd like to be done with abx this year.

Hope this helps.

PM me if you want my drug combos.

Wags,
BoxerMom

I'm taking Tindamax 3 days a month along with 5 other abx, hitting lyme and cos.

Tindamax really knocks my socks off. My last herx lasted 3 weeks.

Everyone I've talked to also takes it along with other abx.

My now famous lyme doc immediately put me on flagyl and high-dose amoxi. So, I was killing cysts right off the bat.

After he treated lyme for 1 month, then he moved on to treat bart and lyme, then bart and babs.

He said if any lyme was left lingering at the end, he would re-treat it, but in my case that was not necessary.

So, he treated lyme first before the coinfections, and he used cyst-busters.

Prior to going to him, I had been on lyme treatment for 2 years without any cyst busters. That may have had something to do with why he started me out on flagyl.

Still, he clearly treated the lyme cysts before moving on to the cos.

It has now been 5 years since I completed my treatment and I am still symptom-free, enjoying my life.

I am pulsing flagyl 2 days/week on weekdays
every other week. I am also pulsing artemisinin
3/days wk on weekend, also taking bactrim every day and zith every day and doxy 6-7/7 days. I figure why not hit everything. Been treating 1 yr minus 3.5 months over 2 break periods. Lets
go for it so we can get on with our lives.

Yes. Ask me how much I hated flagyl though! ugh! One of those necessary evils!

Maybe my case is different from your cases...

I refused to take Flagyl and Tindamax because they cause cancer in rats.

Instead i;ve taken GSE Grapefruit Seed Extract for about 3 years, 3x/day w meals, either pills 125 mg., or 15 drops in tomato juice.

I've been rifing for a few months. It seemed to work, so i stopped abx on Feb 1.

If i had a lot of cysts, wouldn't they have opened up when i went off abx? Shouldn't i have had a big relapse, or herx, or reaction of some sort?

But i didn't, so i concluded i must not have many cysts. Maybe they were killed by abx? or by GSE GRapefruit Seed Extract? maybe i didn't have many? i don't know, but there was no need for Flagyl or Tindamax.

My LLMd relentlessly goes after the co-infections first until they are gone and then Lyme last. BUT Flagyl he says hits the co-infections and he does use it for that purpose as well as cyst busting.

I did Flagyl with Zith at the very beginning of my treatment.
