So how do we know for sure? Do we do a cleanse and if symptoms go away then we know it was parasites?

Yes GiGi thanks for posting this. GiGi has been informing us about parasites for a long time. If you do a search here on lymenet you will find lots of very informative posts that she left.
MD, Everyone has parasites, especially those with Lyme disease.

We all have parasites. Average about 12 lbs. of them. Some parasites are very necessary for life. Some of the ones that deplete us of nutrients are not desirable and will eventually do us in, unless we do something about them.
This is one of the reasons why Dr. K. says in his many articles "treat parasites first or early on when trying to lighten the toxic load". You cannot get well if they are eating you out of house and home.
Parasites are not caused by Lyme. Lyme only manifests in a toxic terrain and is difficult to eradicate from there unless we clean up.
Once we understand that not everthing we cry about is caused by Lyme, and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, we are halfway home!

P.S. Dr.K. is convinced that is where the pharmaceuticals still work best. (Albendazole, Biltricide, long-term Alinia) . Look up his more recent protocols (google or listen to his talks or DVD's) and you will find as things are being added to get best and better results.

Thanks for this info Gigi. I have recently believed that this is one of the reasons for certain symtoms that I have.
One of the reasons I believe this is that my IV nurse pulled back blood from my port in a saline solution. There was stuff in my blood. The nurse was disgusted but we (I, the doctor and the nurse) looked at it under the microscope. I'm quite sure that there was a worm in the blood. The slide didn't make it to the lab for some reason. Also, the more I think about some of my symptoms it makes sense that these might be related to parasites.
Also, in "Cure Unknown" the author states that Burdorferi (sp) found nematode worms in the ticks that he disected. So, I do believe that there could be a relaion to Lyme. The one symptom that I have that I think is parasites happened shortly after I was bitten. I think that it is related to the tick bite.
