I'm starting 4.5 mg tonite. I heard I should start slowly but only have 4.5 capsuls from Gideon's.

I couldn't take it while doing abxs...herx or reaction but thought I was dying 1 hr. after taking it. Heart, palps, difficulty breathing,sweating, didn't just happen once but everytime.
Note: Prior to Lyme treatment I took LDN for 2 yrs without any troubles for my supposed MS. Just horrid when on abxs.

4.5 is quite alot to start. I started, and am still on 2 mg. Next time I go, I'm ready to have them up it.
I had sleep problems at first, in fact last year I quit b/c of it. Now I think it helps a little.
Hard to say if it helps otherwise, I'm on and off so many things.

I've read wonderful things about LDN stimulating the immune system. But I have heard I'm supposed to start 1.5, 3.0 and then 4.5.

Can you open the capsule and pour most of it out? Everything I've read says to start low and go slow. I started on 1/2 of one capsule for a week or two, then upped. Can tolerate 3 mg now, no problems, i actually think it helps me sleep.

I worked up to 4.5mg by starting with 0.5mg and increasing the dose by 0.5mg weekly. I was able to avoid any serious sleep disturbances or strong herx reactions this way (I had such extreme crazy herxing when I tried to start at 4.5mg I had to stop taking it).

That is what I did: open the capsules and put half in water and stir. I am taking 3 mg and it helps a great deal, but I had to start with tiny amounts and work up to the full capsule

I made my own LDN solution from 50mg tablets with 50ml water, so 1ml water = 1mg naltrexone. Then you can administer whatever dose you'd like with a measuring dropper.

Am I supposed to always dissolve in water? I was just taking the 4.5 mg capsule.
