i have started exercising on my new elliptical. it's too hot here now to walk.

i only do 10 minutes a day. anymore and i'd probably collapse.

but i've noticed that i am really sweating all the time now, heavy.

my arm muscles are very painful, just like bad fibro acting up.

i just feel, well, yucky...sick to my stomach.

how does exercise affect lyme? could this be a herx?

i am not taking any abx since i had c. diff, no buhner either. just doing a break.

I read somewhere, can't remember where now, sorry... that Lyme does not like a higher body temp, It makes it harder for it to function in your body. I asked my LLMD about it, he said yes, The higher body temp makes it harder for the Lyme spirochete to cause havok.

I made the mistake of hitting the gym TOO HARD at first and the Lyme knocked me on my butt with a vengeance.

I have not given up,

I still hit the gym and when i run or walk whatever i am doing, when it gets hard i say to myself 'this is for you spirochete! I am going to be as much of a pain to you as you are to me. Hope you like the heat. get out! '

FOR ME the trick is to work out hard, but not so hard that it knocks me down the following days, but still get my temp up etc, it has been a balancing act and a fine line i have crossed a few times and then had to take up to a week off because i did too much, but i still go right back as soon as i can.

So I am not sure if that is an official herx, but i know that i have been effected by exercise more than once.
I know i am not explaining it very well, but i have read it several sources that exercise & body temp matter. Maybe someone else here can explain it better.
I would say keep at it Randibear, just be moderate about it and ease into it.

I was just thinking of this yesterday when I went walking again for the first time in a while.

I didn't push as hard as I did the last time, but afterwards I still felt achy in my joints, not the typical sore muscle/joint that you get from exercise, but feeling fluish.

Today I'm exhausted and have a headache and some heart palp issues.

I wondered too...

I always get rashes that itch on my back, chest, and shoulders when I work out. My face gets really red too.

One day a couple months back, I worked out on a stepper for two 10 min intervals, but on the second one, my hands felt swollen (didn't look it, just felt it) and had a little tingling and numbness to them, so I stopped.

Yesterday, I did yoga, skin brushed, soaked in epsom salt bath and felt great until about 15 minutes later when my body felt like a wet noodle, I was woozy and had a few little stumbles when trying to walk, and got quite tired.

I had to lay down for a while, then I was fine.

It is so strange to experience things like this out of the blue.

Although, I have cut back on my exercise, I am not giving it up. I think yoga is the best right now.
