Scary and sad. The article said that it is already licensed for use in 47 states! It kills everything in the soil. How can that be good.

I used to use Diazinon for ticks before it was outlawed for home use. It worked great.
But if you used the granules it was lethal to birds. It burns them up. But I assume it did the ticks also.
Maybe in a different form/liquid it would be safer as it has a short life in the soil.
They are looking to use something to prevent parasite transmission in bugs that eat the fruits.
That we can eat and get the parasites. Not to mention the bugs that destroy the fruit.
The diazinon came under fire when a bunch of migrating geese ate the granules off a golf course and it burned their mouths off.
It was decided it could also burn kids. So it was removed.
